And Anton Devcich has only had 5 chances. Recall?
I was just winding people up Athlai. The guy has had more chances than anyone I have ever seen.

I don't know what they will do for the Indian tour. I think they feel a moral obligation to give him many chances because of personal assurances that would have been given to him before he moved his family across the ditch.

Btw it will be somewhat farcical if he immediately moves back to Aussie if he gets dropped and it becomes clear there is no path back into the blackcaps for him.

I'd seriously consider moving back if I were him because Aussie domestix get paid more. Give Watling 12 months to play himself out of the NZ test team and reassess. You could even float the argument he's stuffed himself since if he stayed in Australia to begin with he could have pushed for a place post-Haddin since he can catch (unlike Wade) and the selectors don't seem to rate Nevill (otherwise he would be ahead of Wade). Nevill should probably get the gig but crack Nevill over the head when no one is looking and you're a chance.

edit: haven't really checked Ronchi's state figures prior to popping over here though, so he may well have been shunting it and consigned to the scrap heap by the Australian selectors.

By memory from a post PEWS made two years ago (and I am stretching my mind here) he said he was not going too flash prior to coming over here.

If Ronchi was to return to Australia the only format that he would get a game in is T20.

didn't he move here precisely because he was struggling to get a decent contract in oz domestix?

Well, it's hard for me to blame Ronchi for this performance, tbh. We bowled poorly, West Indies batted well, and also bowled and fielded well.

Ronchi came in at 7 when the game was gone.

The only batsman who might've won the game for use when we were chasing that many runs was Ryder, and he played a silly shot when well set, despite having a perfectly capable partner in Williamson.

Wow, what an unexpectedly fantastic performance. I really didn't see that coming. 2-2 really is a good result considering the second string nature of our squad for this series. Like I said at the start of this series, New Zealand should be pretty unhappy with that result, our batting line up was about as bad as it gets.

Still, in the end there were positives for both sides after the series. Obviously Corey Anderson's efforts will never be forgotten and Jesse Ryder will be very effective at the top of the order for years to come. For us, Dwayne Bravo was brilliant with bat and ball and mostly skippered the side very well which is some achievement after the disaster that was the test series. Obviously Kirk Edwards played really well and can now put pressure on Simmons and Samuels for that middle order slot. But most of all, I really enjoyed watching Jason Holder bowl throughout. He is an excellent young bowler who simply has to make the test squad ahead of Best and Cottrell.

well done windies, but can we please change the "depleted team" record? It's been on for about the past decade. Deal with the team you've got and give them credit.

I enjoyed watching Holder bowl as well. It was great to see a 2m tall WIndies pace bowler in action again albeit at a gentle medium pace. I reckon Holder could be a real star if he could bowl more consistently in the high 130s.

McCullum annoyed me yesterday, so I'm going to have a go at him. :D

I was going to use facts to point out how poor he's been, like how Rob Nicol has virtually the same average as him over the last four years. But screw facts. Facts are BS.

I'm just going to call him names instead.

You suck, McCullum. You suck more than a giant sucking machine called the "Suckmaster 5000", which was designed specifically for sucking and has won the world sucking championships five years running. You're a ninnyhammer and a poopoo head.

I feel better now.

Yes we all tend to moan about the selections a lot, but have you stopped to consider that every single West Indian poster here does it? It's not just me on some kind of campaign. Granted there aren't many of us but the fact remains that our selectors are beyond useless and get it wrong consistently.

Also, this is quite exceptional and I don't remember ever having this many injuries to key players over the last decade.I'd like to see what you would say if New Zealand were on tour somewhere and literally 1/2 of your first team was out injured, See how you would cope with your ODI side playing without Guptil (Gayle), Williamson (Lil Bravo), Taylor (Samuels), Mcullum (Pollard), Southee (Roach) and Mills (Rampaul).

I will give it a rest now as I realise I have gone on about it a lot but it is a legitimate point.

Agreed. He's working hard on it and has put on a little bit of pace over the last year. He's spent a lot of time with Curtly. If he can get his pace up a touch his other attributes will make him a test class bowler.
