Yeah, the kiwi team, McCullum and Fulton aside, is very young. Even Rutherford can't be written off at this point (though I think another failure at the Tron should see him take a break from the side).
Who would you bring in for him, out of interest?

Assuming the logical option of moving McCullum up to open and bringing in Ryder won't happen for obvious reasons.

Tuffey was definitely better than Wagner. Adams too IMO but it's hard to really count that one.
2001-2003 Tuffey was better than Wagner. Post 2004 Tuffey might be of more use on a green top, but in most other conditions I'd take Wagner.

meant blokes who played tests in that period, and Adams didn't. Tuffey Mk II wasn't better than Wags but now you mention him there's some good youtube footage of him now in his prime, making ****s like Sachin look clueless at 125-130.

Has to be Raval surely? I haven't watched much Papps this season but if he has a back foot game I'll eat my flat.

Until last weekend I would've said Raval, but a double failure against the eventual champions of the 2014 Plunket Shield has probably put the hand break on his progress. If he continues his runathon, I'd go with Papps, and not just because it might give Redmond a chance of making up some ground.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS.

I'd gladly you give you the $10 if it was because Papps was in his rightful spot. In fact I'd probably pay a couple of hundred for that.

I'll look for it some time around Q2 2019 then.
Haha, I was having a look at some Papps in the vault yesterday actually. He's actually played some lovely pull shots this season; still has problems with the standard back of a length ball that isn't a bouncer or a long hop though.

If we want a front foot hero we should just pick Jamie How. Better to watch and you can lock in a score between 40 and 60 every time.

Oh noes, Wagner's not your new Chris Martin is he? :p
If you go back to the 2011/12 Plunket Shield thread you'll see me making some fairly derisive comments about Wagner, so no he's definitely not as beloved as the prince of rabbits. But the blunt truth is that he really has had the better of the contest between himself and Doug in 2013. Deserves his place until either Milne or JimmyGS can force him out through sheer weight of PS wickets.

I don't think you wanted him picked at first while everyone else was gagging for him after he had back to back tenfers iirc.

JimmyGS has two (contrived chase induced) 5fers in two games doesn't he? Probably done his wicket tally a world of good. If I had to choose an in form bowler to take Wagner's spot if he's smelly in Hamilton then I would probably go for the pace and bounce of Bennett. He's ugly to watch bowl but he's effective. I was starting to warm to Wagner for his willingness to improve technical gripes like his seam position and change his bowling role for the good of the team though so I'd be a little bit gutted for him if he continues to fall to pieces. Maybe I've just gotten used to him but he's managed to mellow me from my "he's just another overrated import who wouldn't get the press he does if he was born in New Zealand" position I had when he made his test debut. Charging in on flat pitches wins fans I guess.

You've no argument from me about including Bracewell instead. The guy's averaged close to 60 in the last 2 years. There are 2-3 other bowlers in the country I'd like to at least get a crack instead of Wagner though.

Who would be closest to the team and in what order?

Neesham's 5fer against Wellington was a proper bag. Included 3 top order wickets all involving attempted defensive shots to good deliveries. But he has a lot more to do before he seriously enters the conversation. Same goes for Bennett tbh.

Does anyone else know how to claim a ticket refund for NZC matches?

According to the NZC website, you need to write to Ticketek:

Cricket Refund Address:
Ticketek New Zealand Limited ('Ticketek')
PO Box 6334
Wellington

But, given Ticketek know the credit card they took the ticket fee from, why do I need to write to them? Can't I just e-mail them and they credit my credit card? They have all the information - why do I need to write and there's nothing on NZC's website about what I'm writing to them for? Do I need to send them my tickets? Why is there so little information on it?
