If Prior gets out that should be it. 380 ahead ought to be enough anyway.

Against a decent attack, WI would have no chance. Unfortunately, we all saw Harmy & Plunkett's performances in the 1st innings, so who knows? If Gayle stays in, it could yet be interesting.

Plunkett who bowled decently and was unlucky to only take 2 wickets. Harmison lost his action obviously and it wasn't sorted out quickly enough by whoever.

Can a Durham player do any wrong in your eyes? Plunkett was inconsistent at best, and interspersed some good deliveries with some shockers. Harmison's poor form is no-one's fault but his own, and to blame someone else for not "sorting out" his shocking day of bowling is just ridiculous.

Pretty silly from Strauss there, mucking around with these two at the crease, who cares if it's not exactly 400?

Harmison is such an embarassment. Does not deserve to wear the England shirt IMO.

EDIT: Nice third and fourth ball!

Plunkett bowled well enough to take 3-4 wickets on average luck, which would have been perfectly respectable. I didn't say whose fault Harmison's technical fault being not corrected was, because we're in no position to know.

How is it possible that it's anyone else's fault than Harmison's? We're in no position to know what the coaches are doing, but I don't see any reason why anyone other than the player himself should take the blame for a poor patch of form.

Because they should do something about it as soon as possible, which may or may not have been something he could have corrected sooner rather than later, or if not then you can have Collingwood and whoever bowl some more overs.

Given Harmison's figures for Durham this year, you'd have to think there isn't a whole lot wrong with his action. imo, his problems in tests are as much mental as technical. His confidence looks completely shot and, if he has another shocker tomorrow, then England have a real problem for the 2nd test.

The wides issue is astonishing for anyone who's watched any test cricket over the years. For decades, you never saw them at all. Nowadays with England, it's a surprise if you don't see 2 or 3 with the new ball.

His issues maybe as much mental as technical but given they are both ****ed that isnt much of a comparison.

The mental fragility certainly comes into play more when things are not going well and that is usually due to his technical issues. Once his head gets involved then its a rapidly downward spiral.

Ill be honest, I still rate him highly. I just wish some one would sort out a simple thing in his action.

Plunkett showing his renowned ability with the bat

Come on Harmy, time to make some sort of contribution to the game ...
PY sees a lot of Shaun Pollock in young Plunkett... :)

TBF to Liam he can hold a bat and should average in the high teens in international cricket but he does seem extremely dopey and Chris Gayle returned the favour and made him look a ****.

Still can see England winning this game for if the West Indies don't clue up against Panesar then England will stroll it, for only Dwayne Bravo and Daren Powell played Monty with any intelligence.

Should be an interesting day nevertheless, Ganga is a key wicket tomorrow morning for he won’t score runs which will scare the opposition but he does consume time and regardless of his limited nature his probably a good player to have in this situation.

England were in pretty much the same position against Pakistan in 2006 at Headingley IIRC, expect that we have a lot more runs to play with. We are perfectly capable of taking 10 wickets tomorrow, should Panesar and Harmison bowl well.

Sadly we don’t have Sajid Mahmood this time.
