I suspect it is because Narine hasn't arrived yet. (He's not playing apparently)According to Cricinfo, the Windies are only playing 10 guys. What the hell is going on?
I'm afraid that this is a woeful post. How on earth can you compare Brathwaite defensively with Chanderpaul? Just because a batsman plays no shots like Brathwaite does not mean that he has a good defensive technique. Brathwaite is technically all over the place and is nowhere close to test standard. He plays away from his body and doesn't transfer weight forward or back properly. Barath and Powell may be hopeless, but at least there's the odd chance they might come off with their attacking strokeplay. Brathwaite is just a stonewaller who is waiting to get out, if by chance he happens to stick around it's not like he would even score much anyway. I agree that both Barath and Powell need to be replaced, but there's no point replacing them with a player who is actually worse than them.Totally disagree, for a start he's got 50s against both India and Australia, so he does know how to score runs at international level, the lad just had a bad spell, sh/t happens, Strauss and Bell had a torrid time against Pak and SL but now everything seems fine with them and i'd like to think Kraigg could score some runs against the likes of NZ at home,
He's come out of the spotlight and by all accounts he's been working hard behind the scenes to sharpen up a few things, question his scoring all you like but defensively and concentration wise he's right up there with Shiv IMO, we'll see how he gets on this weekend for the a-team i guess,
i just think he'd compliment Gayle well, too many times we're finding ourselves 30/3 in the first 10 overs, it's not good enough, with Kraigg and Gayle up top i'm willing to bet that that trend stops.

tbh, i dont think barath is hopeless. He just seems to lack any constraint or temperament right now.I'm afraid that this is a woeful post. Pretty poor decision if the Guardian's correct. Anderson's hardly going to get any First Class cricket between now and the first Test, if he needs his workload managed then rest him from some of the 8 ODIs to be played between now and the first Test against South Africa.Anderson rested. I reckon if he was 100% fit he'd be playing but Strauss said after the last test he was having trouble with his quads, the physio apparently spent most of the last test seeing to him on the sidelines. So if this is the case I have no problem with it.Pretty poor decision if the Guardian's correct.
