And Gayle's ODI record is pretty good. I'd guess better than most of the England batsmen too but I'm too lazy to check that.

When Australia was awesome we were ****y. Everybody else hated it.

The poms are ****y, but they ain't all that good, I'm sure it's much more annoying.
Its kind of like this, they win... but its disgusting that they're winning and even they know it:

Doubt there'll be much play in this Test the way the weather is shaking up.

I think that's a very decent Windies ODI squad, would say they'd beat us most places in the world, maybe a bit different if we can make inroads with the new ball, in English conditions.

Forecast says rain all Thursday with showers on Friday and Saturday, which is as far forward as the Beeb's weather goes...

Asked for tips not the weather (well I asked for both tbf)
Sheesh. Touchy... :p

Can get 12s on Cook for top England run scorer if you like a longer punt. Shiv available at 5/2 for the Windies too.

Sammy's 57/20 for top Windies wicket taker; needs 4 to overhaul Roach. Not sure what happens for ties tho, but.

West Indies at 14/1 with Narine playing are good value I think, initially at least. I would back England to get a positive result out of it eventually because they know how to win and West Indies don't. I would back West Indies then put money on the other results when their odds move in. I think it would be unlikely that England would just straight out demolish them from the start of the match.

meh i think the series will be competitive and the results of the odi's not the foregone conclusion of the tests but I'd still see England as favourites. Narine apart the bowling is poor, and don't expect Gayle to have the same influence on international cricket that he does at domestic level. At least though the games will be worth watching.
Pretty much how I see it, England have got to be favorites coming into this series, in the last 3 years we've only lost just that one series which was the one that came after the Ashes in 2009.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gayle comes off big once in the series though, to a certain extent it depends on how well he handles the white swinging ball, especially if Jimmy plays.

For refrence WI just went 2-2-1 vs Aus who have a 57-24 record in the same period.
