**Official** West Indies in England 2012

Cricketer Of The Year
I remember the days when Fidel Edwards was a dangerous pace man. If only he could recall those (not so) dizzying heights then this series would be a bit more fun.

By the sounds of things there's going to be a fair bit of rain in the next week or two, so I'd imagine they'd have preferred one of their best fast bowlers around to a spinner, even if he's a decent one. It'll be interesting if he does play to see how much turn he gets and what kind of problems he can cause with his variation but I'd be surprised if he'd be a big factor at Edgbaston.

Interesting point. Edgbaston has always offered some assistance to the spinners though hasn't it? It will be interesting to see if Narine can avoid the, "cold fingers", syndrome that got Mendis and Shillingford.

It usually does offer something especially if it's dry. I remember last year against India there wasn't much in it for Swann at all but that was a pitch that England racked up over 700 on.

I remember Swann and Ajmal doing well there in 2010, and Swann bowled that cracking ball to Ponting there in 2009.

Not exactly. Narine could have just replaced Shillingford
I'm not sure if they're aloud to make changes to their squad mid series though, baring injuries. I know that applied in the world cup. Can someone confirm whether that's the case for test series?

Nah that's not the case. They can play whoever they like.

Alright folks!!..been a little down about WI lately, but with Narine in the fold i guess every cloud has a silver lining!!, i did fear this series because you can't expect to go to the world number one's backyard with key players missing and think you're gonna win, it was never gonna happen, to the lads credit though we've put in some spells that have rocked England, so that bodes well going forward,

Not fussed about Kemar, lad needs a rest, he's clearly our best pacer and we'll need him when NZ come to town, which by the way is a MASSIVE series for us now, we simply have to win, there's no excuses now as most of the big boys are back, right now i'd say the players that should be automatic picks are..

Gayle

Darren Bravo
Chanderpaul
Samuels

Rampaul
Roach
Narine

Sammy may have got a ton but the fact is his inclusion is killing our attack, so the coaches need to sit down and really look at that because we won't win games when Sammy is our first change, the rest of the team i really don't know, Barath and Powell look quite bad right now, and Edwards has been appalling, although at home he is decent so maybe he deserves a second chance, Fudadin has yet to player either so it will be interesting to see if he makes his debut in this third test.

The A-team tests vs India start this weekend so i hope some players will put their hands up, the likes of Jason Holder who i believe will be a huge star in the future for us, and word is Kraigg is looking back in form now so if he puts up the numbers for the A-team he should come back into contention aswell,

Lastly the news about Narine is interesting, with him involved it gives the fans and the players a big lift because he's our trump card, first he's gonna play the warm up game this weekend and if he comes through that well then i guess he's gonna make his test debut, if he's in the mood he WILL hurt england, it's that simple, we all saw what Ajmal done to them and Narine is just as talented.

Surely Narine just takes Shillingford's spot, and Gabriel (if fit) or Edwards comes in for Roach. Mind you, the way things are going with some of their selection, wouldn't be surprised to see them use two spinners in England.
