Despite his wickets yesterday Bresnan hasn't looked right all series. Finn in for me next test and let Bresnan regain form/fitness/pace playing for Yorkshire. We saw last summer how Broad was underdone after injury v Sri Lanka. Pick fit guys, not as if we haven't got any other options is it?
England's success over the last few years has, imho, a lot to do with not giving up too soon on players who appear to be out of form for a few matches. Not regarding my own opinion, not selecting Bresnan would massively surprise me. Think of Cook, Bell & Morgan. They all got a few extra chances. Cook took it right away, Bell needed a few chances more and Morgan failed all his opportunities. I guess rotating bowlers is a bit easier than shifting a batsman, but still. England's management seem to build on consistency!

Apart from that I don't think Bresnan looks poor enough to be replaced.

That's the thing though. Trott always makes it count, but in recent times he is not doing that, galle withstanding.
Nah Trott's least of England's worries imo, his last few scores have been 12, 112, 64, 5, 58, 13 & 35, he's done alright.

That is fair, I just think Finn is potential world class bowler. As much as I love Bresnan he won't get 250+ wickets but i think Finn will.

I think you're right that the bowlers can be treated slightly differently to the batsmen - Bresnan replacing Finn in Australia springs immediately to mind. Granted that's something of an exception though.

I'm a big Bresnan fan but I'd like to unleash Finn in the next test, we need to give him a run out before the SA series. I doubt we're going to go all summer only using 3 seamers, so we need to give Finn a go.

Apparently Kirk Edwards is feeling better and on his way to the ground.

Perhaps they'll have sorted out the run-ups by the time he gets there.

Not being arrogant as that gets thrown at England fans quite a lot but it shows how good we are and the depth we have in our bowling ranks that we are saying we could drop a guy who averages under 27 with the ball.

Just starting to reverse, time to get Jimmy back for a burst.

Good stuff from Broad though.

Three seamers over 7 tests indeed sounds unlikely. However, does Finn really need some sort of run-up match against WI, before we assume he's ready to bowl at Kallis, Amla & De Villiers? I'd put him in happily just when needed.

Anyway, what FJ said: what a luxuary for England to discuss this..... Bastards!

I wouldn't be surprised if we lose one seamer at least this summer, that's why I'd like Finn to have at least tasted a Test match this summer, bit different than smashing County sides.

Funnily enough I read a article about how holding Finn back could fire him up, for when he's unleashed.

Good work, but we all know this means trouble for England, as these two will put up 200 runs now for the 6th wicket. Oh no, it'd Edwards..... Not sure I get that.
