**Official** West Indies in England 2012

He bowled fine for 3 of the 4 Tests, back then he still had the occasional problem where he just wouldn't turn up for 1 Test per series which he seems to have gotten over now.
Yes he was OK over there, had his moments, fancy him to do a lot better this time.

I think england have one more gear to go up later this summer. Bowling should get better. I am more worried about batting though, Trott's on a lean run. If he fails, I don't have confidence in england middle order to score consistently.
Agreed. I know it's only one and a half matches, but we look like we'd be in trouble if Anderson & Broad didn't take a couple with the new ball. I don't know whether Bresnan's not quite 100% fit, or whether it's something else - but our third quick needs to do more than clean up the tail.

And yeah, I'm not completely convinced by our batting.

EDIT
Typical - Bres gets an LBW as I type it.

Despite his wickets yesterday Bresnan hasn't looked right all series. Finn in for me next test and let Bresnan regain form/fitness/pace playing for Yorkshire. We saw last summer how Broad was underdone after injury v Sri Lanka. Pick fit guys, not as if we haven't got any other options is it?

Think Trott's playing well, hasn't had a huge score but he's looked like getting a big one every time he's in.

Yeah, with him, Bresnan and Swann in the same side you could argue playing a 5th bowler and moving Prior to 6. certainly will happen if it is that trio for India to play Monty/AN Other spinner.

Shiv going means the game should be over. couple more tonight please.

Maybe we overdid the criticism of the England bats, has the pitch dried out so much it is difficult to play on?
Our batting is nowhere near good enough to drop a batsman for an extra bowler, particularly when there's absolutely no need to bolster the attack. That's now 12 Tests in a row where the opposition hasn't scored 400 against this attack.

Yes the bounce has been a bit up and down all day.

Bres just needs one more for 50 Test wickets.
Yeah, thought Bresnan batted really well. Kept out one or two low bouncers that would have done a few people.

Dryness probably means it more a day 4 than 3 pitch.

Scoring quickly hasn't been easy today either, unlike the first 2 days where it rattled along as the day went on.
