yeah irani is having his best match of the series so far - he made double figures today as well
Yeah and didn't get out either :O:O:O

I knew Anderson would have a bad match eventually...but not when Harmison bowls 2 overs for 27 then gets injured and the only support seamers we have are Collingwood and Irani...

Caddick is starting to impress me, he's taking Wickets more consistantly now, if he keeps this up then I wouldn't mind seeing him in the ODI side, but he needs to stop bowling rubbish when he gets bored...

Harmison has injured his ankle and might be out of the World Cup. Amen to that! He might turn into a good bowler for us in the future, but give him experiance in matches which are not as important as World Cup Matches. The pressure of playing in front of so many people might work against him as well. Hoggard is a much more accurate bowler and England need their best attack in the World Cup. That attack includes Caddick, Anderson, Flintoff, Hoggard and Giles or Blackwell with Collingwood and Vaughan in support, Harmison needs to show more consistancy before he is picked again, but maybe give him a chance in the Natwest Series, the World Cup is not the place for a young player to learn. Anderson may still be learning but he's also taking Wickets. And will someone get rid of Irani before I go mad? With Flintoff fit and the emergance of Blackwell I don't think he should be in the 1st Choice XI. 3 Bowlers (Caddick, Anderson, Hoggard), 2 All-Rounders (Flintoff, Blackwell) and 2 Part Time Fill-In Bowlers (Collingwood, Vaughan), I think England have a good team, all that's missing is Hoggard for Harmison. I wouldn't mind having Adam Hollioake as backup to Flintoff in the place of Irani, but the selectors decided otherwise :!( :!( :!(

More or less curtains for Sri Lanka. That "slogger" Jayasuriya, though is "slogging" his way to glory, eh, Rik?

Are the selectors blind or something? Adam Hollioake had the season of his life and they pick Irani over him? Why.......??? :!( :!( :!( And Harmison...........he could be good, but now is not the time! I saw him play for Durham against Somerset on the last day of the season (Som. won, of course!); he was a bit wild then and he wasn't even playing for his country! I could give him some sympathy but.......well...........

I have been making this point for weeks now! It's so frustrating!

Adam Hollioake is in some of the best form of his career and Irani in his worst, yet they persist. To Irani's credit however, he bowled a tight spell for England against SL which turned out to be crucial.

We should start a petition for Adam!

Irani was the only bowler to get close to tying down Jayasuriya today. 14 off 26 balls against Ronnie, making 85 off 57 against everyone else (SR~150).

I think he deserves his place, although Hollioake ought to get the 15th place in the WC squad rather than Harmison (whose injury will be confirmed tomorrow after a scan).

Honesty, I said he played a few shots which could be classed as slogs, never that he was a slogger, unless you mean the time I was joking...

He slogs the ball so he's a slogger. He doesn't exactly play the ball along the ground does he? I said he's a slogger but he's no ordinary slogger, that guy has both luck and skill on his side. Thinking about it, Afridi could be awesome if he just put his mind to it...

FYI .... Just for the record !

Well hopefully Harmison will be out, but unfortunately I reckon they'll pick Kirtley as a more like for like replacement. Still, it is an improvement.

Errrm...I said that he played sloggish shots. I do not think Jayasuria is a slogger so I don't know what on earth your trying to prove. All I said is he plays sloggish shots like Tresco, Knight, Sehwag...you can't say that running down the pitch like Tresco and Knight do is helping them control their shots...

I would love to know by which means you are reading my mind, because all you ever get is the opposite to what I think
