The trouble being that Hayden has outperformed Langer for 3-4 years whilst Langer is ahead in the las 6 - 9 months.Slow Love™ said:Clarke is certainly posing some interesting questions regarding the Australian top order...
And I know that not many people seem to think this, but I still believe Justin Langer has something to offer in one-day cricket.
Strike rate is a pretty big thing.kwigibo said:As though those were the only relevant statistics in ODI batting?
That's what I meant, it was a cross postmarc71178 said:Strike rate is a pretty big thing.
Say you have an opener who bats through to 30-35 overs every game for 50 runs.
Is that a good ODI player?
Maybe Inzi should consider putting Afridi up to seven. He seems to be in great nick, only wish i could of seen more of him and bough didn't get him outPAKMAN said:Well played Clark mgrath and Afridi
a bit of drama out there in the end
i wonder how Clark felt when the ball wasin hafeez's hand
He made two hundreds and six fifties, one of which was in the 90s. Both the hundreds were against India (109 and 126), the fifties were made against Zimbabwe (63 and 87), India (50), Sri Lanka (93) and Pakistan (59 and 52). His strike rate for the year was a perfectly respectable 75.14.Eclipse said:what was Hayden's strike rate and how many hundreds did he make though..

He hasn't been in great form the last month or two, but to suggest that he hasn't performed in ODIs for "a couple of years" is absolutely ludicrous, as he was Australia's most consistent ODI batsman last year.
Good to bring the points Liam but a look and Bevan's stats before being dropped can me more insightfulMr Mxyzptlk said:Hayden's last 46 One Day Internationals...
Certainly, if he goes much longer wihtout performing he will come under scrutiny. The same was true of Damien Martyn until recently. It is the suggestion that he hasn't performed for a long time despite the fact that he was Australias highest scorer last year that bugs me, not the suggestion that he is out of form.Pratyush said:Hayden is known to be a fighter and he can come back strongly to criticisms by strong performances. But if he doesnt put up some huge scores in the near future, it wouldnt surprise me if they look at other options.
Oh i see, some interesting stats there, but from where exactly did you get them? as far as i know Asim has not played a single OD match so far!!vandemataram said:Fair enough on Danish but as far as Asim is concerned he a test batsman & why do you want a player in oneday side who would eat 100 balls and would score just 20 runs? just to slow the run rate?
Youhanna is a talented batsman, but you are right to say that he has been inconsistent. To be honest i think the guy is overrated, he has been in the team since a long time now yet haven't really performed consistently.tooextracool said:yep that somes it up perfectly for me. personally i dont think youhanna has done anything astonishing that he deserves to be an automatic choice in both forms of the game, but thats a different story altogether.
