Do you blame them?!
Personally, no I don't. He and Brad Hogg both should be out of the team, but save their sorry ar$es when they're on their deathbeds.

I think Symonds needs to go away for a while.

In Brad Hogg's last 13 ODI matches he has taken 24 wickets at 19.45 and made 144 runs at 48, how could you drop him.

Whether they admit it or not, Hogg was already 'dropped'. He wasn't tired from any test series, he was just not included in the team because they believed 4 pacers (including Watson) would be better. Thus, his services were not good enough for the team.

He'll play in Adelaide and Sydney I'm sure, but he was still dropped, omitted or however you want to put it.

Dropped would suggest it's because of performance, but it was because of team shape (same as Kaspa and Lehmann missed the last Test)

The comparison was done as top opener to top opener, best bat to best bat, wicketkeeper to wicketkeeper, 2nd and 3rd best bat to 2nd and 3rd best bat, slogger to slogger etc. etc.

whats your point? none of that makes any difference, because you still havent taken into account batting depth, and the relative difference in ability between say someone like razzaq and anyone on the WI side. fact is that one could quite easily say that razzaq is better than bravo and then say that lara is better than sarwan and have it 1-1, despite the fact that the difference in batting between razzaq and bravo is far more than the difference in ability between lara and inzamam. or the fact that one team may have 3 high quality players and then have all rubbish players after that, but because the other team has 6 good players and 1 bad one, even though their team is better balanced will still have a worser team by your account.

But I shall never do it again Mr. Cool. Not that you have shown me the error of my ways, I repent. 8-) .
please then, go ahead and not do it, because it is one of the worst comparisons ive ever heard off especially considering that you didnt take into account azhar mahmood's batting abilities, simply because you had no other batter in the WI side to compare him with

Heh. Trust that Powell has won more than 1 game is his career.
on his own? never hes never played a 'match winning' inning other than that 100. other than that its simply been match influencing inning(that really any player can do), such as the odd 30 off 20 balls or so.

Hmm, fair call. I concede that it's not being 'dropped'.

No player can truly win a match on his own. 8-) Powell has made crucial contributions to victory in many games.

but you can quite easily play better than everyone else in your team and therefore win the game for them, as opposed to scoring a 30 odd, which is really what powell has ever done.

Inzy was dropped due to his performance - about 17 runs from 5 matches or something like that.

This is not the scenario right now.

As for your first couple of sentences: LOL!

Well we all know that Inzi is being retained as a captain till the Indian tour. However if that tour happens to end up in a disaster for Pak (very much likely) then i bet Inzi will be removed as a skipper.

I have a question, if Inzi is removed as a skipper (i give him maximum 4-6 months) then who do you think should lead Pak? Youhanna ? (just coz he has been playing since 5-6 years and has an experiance of being a VC) Lateef or Moin (even though young keeper is doing well and should be retained) or Younis Khan?

The forecast looks pretty dire: "Frequent showers and thunderstorms. Chance of heavy rain, hail and squalls with the thunderstorms. Moderate southeast winds, fresh at times near the coast."

Don't know how much of a game we'll get today. Pity - it's beautiful and sunny down here in Melbourne.

Channel 9 is saying things are looking remarkably good at the moment.
