He was up a break in the 5th in last year's semi. I'm sure he feels that was the one that got away.

Probably just like Rafa feels Aus Open 2012 was the one that got away from him when he led Novak by a break in the 5th.

Lol Murray. Semi finals of the Davis Cup for your country within your reach and you **** up in a colossal manner. Brutal.

Ferrer just knocked off Rafa in straight sets in Monte Carlo quarters :-O Even after Ferrer won the first set I figured Rafa would work his way back into it and beat Ferrer in 3 as he usually does on clay. Crazy.

Roger and Tsonga playing a very intense match right now - into the third set we go. Roger fighting back from the brink.

Wow Fed, failed to convert 16 break points, failed to convert 3 set points, and yet still managed to keep focus and win the second set in a tiebreak, and then comfortably win the third set. So many other players would have lost their ****.

That's what separates the good and the very great.

I've always thought Garcia-Lopez is solid with a strong serve and awesome one-hand backhand, but man if he wins this, oh boyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Djokovic injured?

Anyway Rafa won't lose RG, don't know why people are pretending and hyping
Only reading about his wrist injury now. I remember hearing something earlier in the week though so seems the case. Would explain him almost losing to Garcia-Lopez.

Nadal still rightfully favourite but he hasn't been great since the Australian Open. Wouldn't say he's recovered from his back injury well considering he almost lost to Andujar on clay, and then lost to Ferrer on a surface he just always beats Ferrer on.

In any case clay season includes Rome and Madrid. Could see Fed taking Madrid, or Stan considering its faster clay. Novak and Rafa could also share one each and then you've got the big 3 sharing a Masters 1000 each going into RG.

Seriously Rafa was down a break in the 5th against Novak last year and really only won because Novak touched the net in a crucial game. Not sure why its so inconceivable that he may not win this year.

Sometimes Betfair can be a little silly, been watching Vekic-Ciblukova, Vekic has never won a title, is only 17, and I was able to lay her at 1.05, she was two breaks up, but so what it's woman's tennis, and Ciblukova is a competitor.

Stan is the friggin' man. Beats Fed for the 2nd time and wins his first ever Masters 1000 tournament.

It wasn't clear if even the much improved Stan version 2 could beat Federer considering the mental block he's had over him. Ended that now.

What an unpredictable tournament.

Rafa loses in Barcelona for the first time since he was 15. Genuinely think the men's game is finally getting interesting again, would be nice if some youngsters looked like they were coming through.

Hey Jono, ignoring the fact I did a long-ass reply to a Q of yours in another thread and you didn't even like or reply to it rude ****er, I'd like to ask you a q about tennis fanatics.

Is there any other fans sports (in your experience) tat are so utterly demented about calling other players that they don't like draws easy. It's just utterly mental, they genuinely seem to believe that their respective nemesis only win because every tournament has been practically hand-picked. Us soccer fans do this a little I'll admit on the World staget, yet in the end draws skew-whiff because of where you finish in groups

Yeah I've noticed that too. My theory is that in tennis it is far more difficult to claim your player was robbed by poor umpiring or a player you hate was helped by poor umpiring. That is generally the claim in all sports that are used by dickhead fans when something doesn't go their way. In tennis its less relevant hence there is far more emphasis on who had the easier run to the final in any given tournament.

Yeah, that makes sense, now vid technology is so prevelant, of course back in the days of McEnroe, Connors and Nastase line-calls did cause the odd contretemps.

Anyway, I'm not one to complain, but isn't this pic rather overdoing the phallic-ness, car and trophy?

Probably just my murky mind though....

I think Andy Murray's year peaked on April 1st when he said he was going to be announcing his new coach the next day and then proclaimed that it was an April Fool.
