Not convinced he's even hurt. Just knew he was captaining a sinking ship and tried to save face.
Have to agree with this. The crowd sees this bloke milk every ounce of time he can in his matches, it's understandable they're sceptical when they see him copping a pizzling then take a time out. It's why he'll never have the true love of the fans.

Lol at Jono. What a remarkable coincidence that the thousands of people who crammed into RLA last night were the exact same crowd who watched Nadal play last year.

It's a joke. If he was a set up he wouldn't have had a time out. A Snickers maybe, but not a time out. You know it. Everyone knows it.

Na to suggest he was outright faking it is pretty ridiculous. He was a set down and an early break in the second. It's not like the match was lost, and Nadal isn't someone who just gives up like Tomic. He obviously had some kind of problem - who knows what the severity of it was though and if he was exaggerating. I'm a bit dubious about that aspect of it tbh, given it seemingly came out of nowhere (how bad could it be?) and he managed to move well again after he won the 3rd set. I think there's a decent chance he could have milked it a bit in his favor, with the crowd behind him and Stan seemingly losing his mind at the other end.

The new big four: Nadal, Djokovic, Wawrinka and Del Potro - Tennis rankings aren't that great are they.. It makes a difference too, not like say batsman rankings in Cricket.

Yeah, they're slightly too short term for me. But meh.

Tempted to take up following tennis just so I can back Jono up on his stance against ridiculous surface snobbery tbh.

PEWS wag.

Well known clay courting specialist country the USA chose clay as their surface against Britain in their Davis Cup tie. Obviously just a European thing though...

Murray resting in the doubles which makes sense. Wouldn't beat that freak pair so keep him fresh for the decider tomorrow.
Yeah, and TBH we have some decent double players, so it's not a totally forlorn hope, but yeah just need to win one of the singles.

Please no we already have Tennis Australia pushing overfilling synthetic grass / slow hard courts... I swear some of these courts look (and play) more like the beach than anything else.At Least my local clubs are too cheap to put in the clay / syn clay they're pushing these days.

Local courts are all weather because they're low maintenance and as the name suggests, are all weather. Means more people can play all year round. Silly to just have hard courts where if it rains it becomes like ice. Tennis clubs would go broke.

What does that have to do with sand fill levels? Or what TA is pushing with respect to new courts? I don't mind Syn grass with good (not beach level) sand levels as long as the court is well maintained (even). Anything more than a light shower and your SFSG courts are off anyway.

The sand absorbs the water. Without it it would just be as slippery.

Sounds like Tennis Australia is making it easier for us to fulfill our compulsory day at the beach and shops requirement of being an Aussie.
