Novak was the underdog by the bookies, paying $2 with Davy paying $1.80. Wanted to get on but nothing in betting account :(

Overreaction by Davy's win over Murray (though he did maul him).

Good on Novak. Considering he was 0-3 in last year's tournament, this is a good come back from him.

Have changed the thread title to coincide with a new year of tennis approaching and so this will pop up in your User CP when there are new posts.

Excited today because I bought tickets to the first day of the Brisbane international with tickets at a great price of $9.90. Doesn't allow access to the centre court but I'm sure there should still be some good games on the outside courts, hoping to catch Dokic or Tomic.

This will be the first time I have been to a tennis tournament. Expecting it to either be the hottest day of the year (which won't be hard as it will only be the 4th day of the year) or pissing down rain.

Anyone else excited to watch the Russian sibling pairing of Safin and Safina at this year Hopman's Cup? Can't wait tbh, hope they win.

Wrighty, I've also got tickets to the Tennis, going to the Friday night session - Women's Semi, Mens Doubles Semi.

Would have liked to go to one of the early rounds during the day, but just a bit hard with my work schedule.

It should be a very good tournament, lots of talented performers in the men's draw.

Anyone watching the Capitala World Tennis Championship?

For an exhibition tournament, the Murray vs. Federer match was pretty sweet.

Murray beat him again, and will play Nadal in the final. Good start to the year.

Gee the Capitala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi has been a massive success!

The tennis between Murray and Nadal in the final after they were 1 set a piece, 3 games a piece in the 3rd set was seriously some of the best I've ever seen. That specific 7th game of the 3rd set was probably the best specific game of tennis I can rememeber.

Murray ends up beating Nadal 6-4 5-7 6-3, and wins the Capitala World Tennis Championship. A cool $250k for some 3 day's work.

Great start to the tennis year. Particularly for me as out of the 5 matches played in the tournament, I tipped all 5 correctly, and won money on all 5 matches. Touch wood my betting luck continues into the Australian tennis season :)

With Nadal, Federer, Djokovic and Murray all legitimate grand slam contenders, its got to be the best top 4 in a long time.

I don't neccesarily think its the best but its the most competitive, we have seen for the last X ammount of years a clear number one in Federer to Hewitt to Agassi to Sampras, its probably the first time since the early 90's with three or four challengers for the top.

Pretty much decided that unless there are two quality players, tennis is a sport better saved for television. Wasn't worth the sunstroke for the quality on offer today.

The best tennis match I ever saw live was between two no-namers on a 'show court' at the Aus Open.

Rezai just beat Danilidou in the first match of the ASB. Vaidisova about to start now, against a Russian whose name I can't spell.

Vaidisova wins, but it was a struggle. Played some awful shots at times, couple went into the stands.

Watching Mauresmo v Dokic. Mauresmo takes the first set 7-6, Dokic is 6-5 up in the 2nd. Channel 7 goes to ****ing Deal or No Deal. Get ****ed you stupid ****ing ****s. Why the **** are commercial stations allowed to have ****ing sporting events?

Most pissed off ive been since channel 9 went to the news when McGrath was closing in on his half century.
