Absolutely. It's especially good because you can see the prices fluctuate online instead of having to ring up for a quote. You still have to ring up to put a live bet on though.
For the more technicapable you can use a proxy IP address to put live bets through. It's only Australia where the law forbids it. And if you think it's the bookies that have made it that way because they prefer it, it's not, so the chances are that the law will change eventually. Anyway, Betfair has some software that detects where your IP is from, so just find one that isn't bogged up and you can do whatever you like.

Haha yeah I recently studied a Constitutional Law case on Betfair, and how TAB and the rest were pissed off at them and tried to argue that by allowing them into Australia it was against the Aus Const.

I've thought about jumping on them for ages, but I love live betting. Does betfair allow that?
Just between you and me, all of CW and the rest of the Internet, as if the TAB don't use Betfair themselves.

Give the high number of Aussies on this forum, I thought Id post number 2 of ESPNs "Three Fixes for Tennis"

Fix No. 2
You can't have four "majors" when absolutely nobody cares about one of them. (I believe not even The Schwab could name the last 10 Australian Open winners.) Why not make the Australian a major mixed-doubles event? Wouldn't it be fun to see who pairs with whom? It would be like waiting to see who's taking whom to the prom, right? How would they play together? Would they fall in love, like they do in Dancing With the Stars? You're interested already, I can tell.
Opinions?

Haha, surely this is only due to the final being at night in the US. Isn't the Aussie Open the one with the most crowds or something?

Haha direeeee. It wasn't a record Mork, but the fact that the Aust. Open had 100k more people through the gates in '07 than Wimbledon must say something. Reckon you might be spot on re: the final being at night in the US

Hahaha Jono.

"Hey Clapo, eat some bicep!"

Best call on CW in a long time, for mine.
Haha cheers

That actually pisses me off to no end. I'm hardly an "oh I'm proud of my country and anything it does" type of guy, but I love the Australian Open, and am very proud that the city where I live hosts it.

Think DCYE said it best, bloody Yanks

American's just trying to get one up on us, French and Wimbledon are unique as they are stand alone surfaces for slams, while US and Aus are on similar types of hard courts, obviously they want to prove the merits of their grand slam over ours. Honestly who cares, both slams have been around for 100 years and its a pointless argument.

Draw up. Fix imo - Nadal vs Gulbis in round two, most likely. Haas gets a chance to knock out Murray in round three, unless they both withdraw in the same match. Federer, Söderling, Hrbaty, Nishikori, Monfils, Guccione all in the top 16th.

Haas wont make the third round.
