Decent draw for Erakovic, I think she can beat Krajicek in the first round and Srebotnik in the second. Probably Jankovic in the third though.

Quite. & it isn't because he's Scottish, I've cheered on loads of non-English Brits over the years; it's because he's a penis.

Anyway, distinct lack of Brits in the men's draw, think I saw 4 (Murray, Boggo, Baker & Eaton). Obviously only Murray would be in of rights, but I'm certain we used to give more wildcards out to "plucky" Poms ranked about 14,000th in the world. This a change of policy?

Think it's down to a lack of plucky Poms ranked about 14,000th, but could be wrong. French ended up with 38 in their draw, so it's clearly still allowed.

Yeah, pretty sure the home tournament get a number of wildcard's. Wonder where the likes of Childs, Goodall and Bloomfield are, to far down the rankings I presume?

Edit: I'll answer my own question...Erakovic is actually favoured to beat Krajcek, paying $1.70 at the New Zealand TAB.

Pretty dominant performance from Federer to start his campaign, though Hrbaty's effort was a little disappointing at times. Haven't actually seen him play that much but he seems to throw the ball notably higher than most when serving which was a little unusual to me at least.
