Haas has basically lost his chance to finish the year in the top 8 after pulling out of wimbledon, he's already gone from 4th to 13th in the Race in the last month, so hes basically got no chance now. Wimbledon could be a bit of a waste of time, we all know who's gonna win anyway but theres a few big names not playing

Haas, Murray, Ferrero, Moya, Ferrer, Chela and Nalbandian are all either injured or skipping it apparently...

I have a question...can you be called the greatest player of all time if another player in the same sport consistently owns you, even if its in one tournament?

What if that player that consistently owns you becomes the greatest player ever to play on that tournament (or surface), and you would have probably won that tournament multiple times had you played in another era?

Federer must be kicking himself he didn't win the French in 2004!

This is one of the worst time for Tennis as far as talent is concerned. Rafael has virtually no competition on Clay, Neither does Roger on any other Surface. In 90s Federer wouldn't have made 3 (French Open) finals in a row, there was just so much talent.

IMO They are great but have not been challenged enough to be called greatest ever.

Federer has only made 2 French Open titles in a row, but your point is definitely true. The top 10 since mid-2005 has been awful. So many mediocre players, Simon and I talk about it quite often actually.

Your Ljubicic, Davydenko, Robredo, Gonzalez etc. are only solid players at best. And the ones who would be top 10 in any other era, i.e. Safin, isn't motivated enough.

Its sad.

Aisam qualifies for Wimbledon main draw

LAHORE: Pakistan’s tennis star Aisamul Haq Qureshi Thursday created history after qualifying for the main round of the Wimbledon Championships at Bank of England Sports Ground, Roehampton. Aisam, the only Pakistani, hit the limelight after winning third and final qualifying round against Canadian number one Frank Dancevic in a four-set thriller that lasted for 2 hours and 50 minutes. The score line was 4-6, 7-6 (11-9), 6-2, 7-6 (7-4). “The Canadian has been playing very well for the last three years and broke into top 100 in the world. He has also been playing the Wimbledon main draw regularly. Frank was the 4th seed of the Wimbledon qualifying draw and a favourite to qualify, but the Pakistani prodigy had other plans and managed to defeat him,” a spokesman for Aisam told Daily Times. “I am very happy that I have done it. It is all due to prayers of my parents, my family and all the tennis loving people of Pakistan,” said Aisam in a statement. “I request all Pakistanis to keep praying that I continue to earn laurels for my country,” he added

Aisam advances to Round 2 with a straight sets win now he will be up against Safin:)

I think Aisam is decent enough player to catch Safin by surprise on his bad day and we all know that with Safin a bad day is always around the corner, an inform Safin would probably smoke Aisam.
