Why don't Australia make Bracken or McGrath the suber sub, allowing a better batsman like Hopes to have a bat, but also bowl. They could just take Martyn off at the innings change? I was wondering the same thing with Cameron White.

What's with the bit of green tape on the Australians sleeve? Are they covering up an advertisement?
Probably VB,
Travelex is showing, now it may have changed but I thought they only sponsored them on away tours.

But if they didnt win the toss ??
And they had to bowl first then they would have to sub mcgrath on straight away making the supersub useless.

Couldn't tell you. Ideally, a specialist should be used as the sub, preferably a specialist batsman who is also a good fielder, someone like Hussey.

To be honest, I cant see how people dont think about this much more. The super sub is picked before the toss.

On another note, what is the point of having the third umpire if you are not going to use them? That would have been a perfect case for the third umpire.

If you lose the toss, you don't use the sub unless you have a batting collapse and have to, or if your sub is a bowler and you lose the toss you rely on part timers to bowl some extra overs.

Yes but you don't sub on mcgrath for his batting.

Using a specialist as a sub is useless, unless you can rig the toss.
