Yup, impressive kid, him.
Guys in the box kept calling him a youngster but his just turned 27, so his been around for some time. Supposedly Moody was pressing for his selection for a while now.

Yeah it really would take quite an effort from NZL to even think about drawing from here on. In fact they probably have a better chance of winning than drawing.

Pity its only two tests. A third would present a final result. Bond looks off pace and less threatening than I have ever seen him before. Hope he steps up for the ODIs. Malinga was brilliant yesterday and his inspired bowling and because he is so hard to pick up abbliterated the blackcaps. There is no chance of a draw IMO. They would have to bat it out for most of the two days which I think is highly unlikely considering the first test match and the first innings of this one.

Why is Nathan Astle still playing. I remember last year he made a couple tons or something but before then and after he has been less than impressive. I think its time to get someone else in his position. It has been the same with Marshall, McMillan and co.

Really dissappointed that Sangakkara didn't get to bat in the 2nd innings, soft dismissal for him, I love watching him bat.

Some similarities between this game and the India Vs SA game after 2 days. Low 1st innings followed by a very very low reply, then 5 wickets down in 3rd innings of the match

why not? few balls in to the rib cage then the yoker. works for me.
Martin actually played his bouncers quite well. He's quite tall. Not sure he would have had an answer to one of those yorkers that ripped through the others

Chris Martin has a fairly good technique against anything short and also the spin bowlers, he played a couple of good shots against Muralitharan and those few short balls from Malinga didn't worry him at all. As soon as the bowler pitches it on the stumps he is pretty helpless.

Well played Silva. First player ever to score a ton in his next game after a pair on debut. That takes some ticker

There's nothing wrong with this pitch. I hope the Black Caps have been brain-storming to try and work out a way of seeing Malinga's yorkers and playing Murali because anything under 500 might not be impossible

I don't know about that. When Murali has 400+ to defend, pitch or not, its going to be near impossible to get there IMO.

I could be speaking with my heart. I'm also hoping he gets no-balled every ball

Mate, you've got to accept that his action is within the new rules, whether you like it or not (which I don't like BTW, but its time to move on).
