***Official** Sri Lanka in New Zealand

Yeah I don't get why NZ get owned by speed every single season. As Tim said, makes no sense since they have Bond in their team.

NZ need to some how get a world class batsman in that team in the future. Its seriously an issue when you can't bat on your own wickets against the SL attack. In fact, the attack basically consisted of Malinga and Murali, since those two pretty much bowled the whole innings bar a few from Vaas and Maharoof.

NZ have lost this test, I think that is almost certain.
I wouldn't write NZ off so prematurely. SL can collapse and then all NZ need may be 300 -350 and then it requires only 2-3 batsmen to get settled play a long innings (like Sang) .

So relax, there is a lot more to come in this Test.

Bond's bowling in this test

Is Bond bowling crap or are a lot of runs coming from the edge? What about in the first innings?

Shane Bond bowled reasonably well without much luck, he was pretty expensive but I don't think his figures justify his bowling in the first innings.

Extremely poor effort by our batsmen. There's how many days left? Hopefully we can get SL all out before they get a lead of 300 and then grind through the runs in the remaining days. But with Murali & Vaas's class, Malinga's pace...and Maharoof...I don't think we'll be winning this test.

I wouldn't write off NZ really. It's not like they will be batting against Murali on a 5th day pitch. I think if they manage to knock off the SL for less than 300-330 total lead, they very much have a shot as they are going to be batting on the 3rd day at the latest.

By the way, this pitch is not a three day test match pitch. Bad application from both sides.

Sinclair is keeping pretty well. Handy that we have a part timer in the side for such instances.

Is Fleming's captaincy getting worse?

Why has Franklin bowled nine straight overs when he doesn't appear to be troubling the batsmen - and Bond and Martin are fairly fresh? Fleming's captaincy doesn't have the imagination it used to.

This Dilmah Tea Party is totally ridiculous and over the top. I mean the guys are pouring tea in each others cups while keeping the Dilmah logo prominently displayed.

It's hilarious.

There's been a noticeable difference in his captaincy since Bracewell took over :(
