At this point they should declare once the lead is 500 and Silva has his 150. That way you can go in with a bit of a mental edge instead of being bowled out.

Looking forward to watching the NZ batsmen play some fine innings, hoping Fleming plays a great captains innings..I've always liked him.

Another double hundred would be nice. :)

150 & 500 lead up...should declare soon IMO. Its not like NZ has much of a chance to get it, and in case the weather intervenes, you want as much time as you need to bowl them out.

150 up for Silva. What an innings by this bloke. After a pair in the first test, this is a magnicifcant comeback and a brilliant innings :)

Vettori gets his 5fer but he was bowling pretty average before he got Vaas out, Chris Martin was the only bowler who actually looked enthusiastic and that looked like he wanted to do some bowling. Can see New Zealand crumbling pretty easily but hopefully Cumming and How get some runs.

Also, declaring now allows Silva to end his innings unbeaten...which is always a fantastic confidence boost for an inexperienced player.

I honesty can't believe Silva put this innings together after seeing what his done at domestic and A Level. i didn't think he was anything specials. Quality innings looks like a very good prospect. I would declare in 1,2,3 now.

Seven! Great to see.

I hope at least we can get a decent opening partnership here. 100 would be really fantastic, doubt we've had one since Richardson retired.
