***Official*** Sri Lanka in England

Wow, that was a spectacular collapse from England. 5-5 I think. :-O

KP scored almost five times the number of runs the second highest scorer made - that must be some sort of record. What a player.

Yes a very efficient tail end destruction by Murali, reminiscent of what Warne did almost every single innings in the Ashes.
No, the tail usually wagged in the Ashes.

What we've seen today is a repeat of what England have done far too often in the last couple years - failing to bat opponents out of the game when well set. It cost us the game in Multan and if SL get stuck in today and tomorrow you wouldn't bet against it happening again here.

The fact remains that there were long periods in which Sri Lanka looked in no trouble whatsoever, yet in the England 'A' match Lewis got a wicket every 3 overs - that match proved that the Sri Lankans find him far more difficult than any of the bowlers playing in the Tests except, possibly, Hoggard.
No, that match didn't prove that at all.

It showed that SL hadn't acclimatised to far more bowling-condusive conditions than at Lords.

All I know is that Hayden doesn't stand at slip to seamers but does to Warne. Assumably he finds it easier catching the slower ball.
Sure it's not to do with the fact that Warne can't field at slip to himself?

And speaking of Richard, I haven't seen him in ages, is it just me, or what, where is he?
He often disappears for months on end, usually after his outlandish comments have made him luck stupid.

That was AMZ trying to score points off Warne...
Err...what?

If I wanted to score points off Warne then why would I make an entirely positive comment about his performance?

Warne did run through England's lower order on a regular basis in the Ashes - he got Giles (who looked clueless) 6 times, Harmison averaged 3.8 against him and was dismissed no less than 5 times, Simon Jones averaged precisely 0 against him, Geraint Jones 3, and Hoggard 8. Now if that is not running through the tail then what is?

KP is off the mat, he is just superb what a knock today, his duel with Murali was as good as his battles with Warne last summer. He is well on the way to become the next truly great batsman of the next decade.
