Yeah I know, cos England played 3 ODIs against a popgun Ireland attack last summer (and then there was that ton against Australia but iirc the tourists barely had time to pack their bags before being shovelled into the bubble)

By definition it's his business, obviously, but in these troubled times one's mind does go to some dark possibilities.

Sky showing the 2019 WC group game to cover up the shortfall in the SL innings does feel a little humblebrag on England's behalf. "Yeah, we won the world cup, but it wasn't all plain sailing; we are human..."
