I'm surprised you didn't give the nod to Sehwag, your not his biggest fan, and I saw that pitch, you and I probably would made a few on that wicket. Plus the catching, it was worse then pathetic.
sehwag's inning wasnt particularly brilliant, no. it involved huge chunks of luck for him to get there. but when a good player gets 300, i have no problems with it. whether you like sehwag or you dont, i think its fairly obvious that hes far far far better than chris gayle.
as far as the multan wicket is concerned, yes it was flat, but it certainly was nowhere as flat as this wicket. remember india managed to bowl out pakistan twice on that wicket, so i really doubt that both you and i would have scored too many runs there. this wicket though is an absolute disgrace to cricket.
and i have grown quite fond of sehwag lately, largely because unlike his performances in pakistan and australia which was littered with luck and mistimed hoiks that miraculously pierced the field every single time, his recent performances have shown far more application and skill.

Lara's inning

1. English bowling was much better in the inning compared to the South African bowling even though South Africa really tried hard.
2. Much more pride was at stake after being devastated by England in the earlier tests.
i think if anything, gayle has shown that scoring big runs in antigua isnt particularly difficult.

Which is partly a reason which annoyed be with the Gayle inning. Being a Lara fan, the innings of Lara diminish starkly on the face of the cricket fans.

I don't think we'll ever see the ARG pitch crumble. One of the ground staff said that it would most likely last for at least 16 days this one.
Any strategy would be futile on a pitch which could last 16 days :o

This is the Jamaica XI squad to face South Africa.

Marlon Samuels (c)
Carlton Baugh (wk), Bevon Brown, Odean Brown, Tyson Gordon, Gary Graham, Alanzo Harris, Jermaine Lawson, Xavier Marshall, Nicarlo Mcfarlane, Donovan Pagon* , Jowayne Robinson, Jerome Taylor*.

Donovan Pagon's got a bit of an injury so Maurice Clarke Jr. replaces him. Jerome Taylor again complaining of back issues so Dwight Washington may be drafted in.

Yes indeed, add that one to the records: 9th wickie to take a wicket, 10th if you include AB de Villiers in that list

anyone know what the most amount of wickets by a keeper in an innings is? I think De Villiers (AB) got 2 wickets in this one.

It all depends what you call a keeper - for me it'd be the one who started the innings.

And it's 4-19 in Tests.

when are the ODIs starting? I actually believe the Windies have a good chance in the ODIs....
i agree, south africa are not the best of ODI sides, whereas the west indies are a match for most of the other sides on the ODI circuit, i think in ODIs the windies bowlers are rather underated, ian bradshaw strikes me as a very handy player, my prediction is that the west indies will win at least a few of the games if not the series, methinks it will be very close, south africa will do well to get win out of this form of the game.

the quote in the comments in that match was:
"For the first time in Test cricket all eleven players bowled during Australia's innings, Grace keeping wicket while Lyttelton took four wickets with lobs." cricinfo
