all kane does at mid off is to tell the bowlers to forget whatever jurgensen told themJust a small fielding complaint amongst the myriad of complaints I have against these declining blackcaps, which is this;
Kane, get back in the ****ing gully, captain baz fielded himself at midoff partly because he couldn't catch anything behind the wicket with out gloves on.
Plus tactical and motivational reasons.
Kane's squeaky voice isn't going to motivate the macho fast bowlers.
So, only 1 out of 3 reasons for Kane to field at midoff as captain hold up to any scrutiny.
Midoff is a position for a resting bowler, who can give some tactical and technical advice to the actual bowler.
In summary. GET BACK IN THE ****ING GULLY! And sort out this ****ing rabble by leading by example in your best position.
I`m not sure if I would be happy or sad about that...Duminy to play a matchwinning/saving innings now
Ha yeah this is actually something that annoys me too. Ability to influence the game by having our best fielders in their best positions is far greater than any supposed tactical advantage of having the captain at mid off. Back your bowlers to actually know what they're ****ing doing.Just a small fielding complaint amongst the myriad of complaints I have against these declining blackcaps, which is this;

Watling's footwork has seriously deterioratedUnbelievable that we drop yet another catch behind the wicket, and even worse it's Elgar this time. That Watling only just got his fingers to it but first slip was nowhere near suggests there's something wrong with the positioning too.
Nah BJ shouldn't have had to dive for that. He was heading towards the leg side and was caught off balance making it look hard.Unbelievable that we drop yet another catch behind the wicket, and even worse it's Elgar this time. Really? I feel he's always been a technically horrible keeper with very little in the way of natural talent with the gloves, even though he's probably done a fair job and punched above his weight for a few years now.Watling's footwork has seriously deteriorated
I'm not convinced he's even the best gloveman in the eleven anymore. Good to see him finally make some runs again in the first innings, but he's still a far cry from the WPWKB status he once enjoyed.Watling's footwork has seriously deteriorated
nah I wouldn't say he was ever a natural keeper like McCullum was but he worked really hard on his footwork and got to be pretty damn good IMO.Really? Without the replay in front of me, yes he was caught off balance but I'm not really sure why. It's not like the edge caused a massive change in direction.Nah BJ shouldn't have had to dive for that. He was heading towards the leg side and was caught off balance making it look hard.
If we'd taken chances and dismissed both Elgar and Duminy, then yeah I think we'd be in a strong position to push for a win. As it is, a draw is overwhelming favourite, with still the chance of an NZ collapse giving SA the win.I think that session will cost NZ the test. We needed to take all our chances, review well and not suffer serious injuries (not to mention bat well 2nd time around) to have a chance. Elgar looking good for motm at this stage.
Yup, the gap between the mental resilience in the field was never more pronounced than SA in the field vs. us today... even their DRS decisions....I think that session will cost NZ the test. I thought we might be a little better using DRS without Southee there butchering them all.
Incidentally since Patel's return from apparently becoming this new bowler on the back of his county experience, he's taken 8 wickets @ 50 in 3 tests, and on wickets which have spun.
