Jeez Tommy. Faf pulled one out of the air with one hand and Latham drops an absolute sitter. Mental toughness ftw.

Not just missing Ross Taylor's batting. How much has Latham been in the slips? He's been keeping recently. And why isn't Jeet Raval there?

Wondered this exact thing - without Taylor and Guptill the next two slip fielders that spring to mind are Neesham and Raval, plus Southee now he's on the field. I don't remember Latham being more than an occasional third or fourth slip.

Jeet Raval did drop almost everything that came his way against Bangladesh, so perhaps he's been demoted. Not sure why they wouldn't have gone with Southee, though.

I didn't remember this, didn't see much of that series.

Slip fielding frequently a problem for us, especially when Guptill is not selected.

He has some tank but Wagner is being bowled into the ground here. Give him a rest and get the spinners on, and JP isn't too hot against offies.

He dropped one catch?

Took some screamers against Pakistan IIRC
No, he dropped loads.

Had an awesome debut v Pak in the slips, had a nightmare v Bang.

Makes sense to move him out, and just him just ease into test cricket.

Just a small fielding complaint amongst the myriad of complaints I have against these declining blackcaps, which is this;

Kane, get back in the ****ing gully, captain baz fielded himself at midoff partly because he couldn't catch anything behind the wicket with out gloves on.

Plus tactical and motivational reasons.

Kane's squeaky voice isn't going to motivate the macho fast bowlers.

So, only 1 out of 3 reasons for Kane to field at midoff as captain hold up to any scrutiny.

Midoff is a position for a resting bowler, who can give some tactical and technical advice to the actual bowler.

In summary. GET BACK IN THE ****ING GULLY! And sort out this ****ing rabble by leading by example in your best position.
