I'm disgusted - by the reaction of the kolkata crowd and the slideshow itself. And I must vent out some anger. The slideshow is so obviously a case of a seemingly harmless gesture blown out of proportion by a blatantly biased media.
Oh well.....Indiatimes? That's not something they've done for the first time. Almost all their slideshows are biased, and often slam anything that's even slightly out of place. They even did a slideshow saying that Rahul Dravid is a misfit in the ODI side, and singled him out for his woeful batting in Zimbabwe!

Whatever it takes!!!
Honestly, he looked good during the tests against Pakistan and by all accounts, this is the first time he is playing completely injury free since early 2004. So I am still giving him the benefit of the doubt and I would like to wait for a few more games before coming to judgements.

But the question still remains when is a lean trot more than just a lean trot?

A year, 2 years?

Has he been inconsistent? Yes for one of the very few times in his career.

Has Tendulkar shown he has totally lost it? Not really shown by some big innings.

Did Lara have poor times? Yes. But he has been so strong and dispelled a lot of things said.

Too much has been made of it all as I have reiterated a lot of times.

Is Tendulkar finished? Hell no!!!! He is gonna come and kick some ***! Just everybody watch. I can only sympathise with South Africa...because when Sachin gets going (Mc Grath, Warne, Lee, Murali, Shoaib Akhtar will testify to that)...just sit back and enjoy!!! 8-)

The way Tendulkar plays the runs would keep coming if he stays in the wicket much longer.
agreed...and we have seen that time and again, but he isn't staying at the wicket longer, that's a fact and he is not looking comfortable during his short stays either....they might still keep him for the final all-important one dayer as it has become the most crucial match of the series, but if he is selected and doesn't perform there, they should seriously think of resting him and giving a chance to someone else in the next one day match....

It's funny how 2 innings have been enough to satisfy some that he's still great, yet he has an average of 29 over his last 20 ODI's.

You guys want Sachin to score at a strike rate of 120 when Pollock is moving the ball at ridiculous levels, and a wicket already down?

I'm not worried about Sachin's scoring pace, I'm more worried that he's going out cheaply. In his low scores against SL it was due to silly shots. He must play aggressively agreed, but he must also not throw away his wicket. Other than that, I echo everything said by SJS.
Basically, I think he has to get this tentativeness out of his batting. It affects it in more ways than one and not one of them is positive.

At the cost of being called irreverent or even being an infidel by Pratyush and my younger son :p I sometimes get the feeling Sachin has a goal in front of him (100 international centuries) and it affects him as time seems to be running out. Its just a thought.

Tendulkar's form is a non-issue, compared to the lack of a genuine, performing all-rounder and a powerful strike bowler.

The Indians are already feeling the pinch of the absence of an all-rounder yet again. Why JP Yadav was dropped is only known behind closed doors. That man can serve a purpose- support the strike bowlers giving nothing away, and then hit more than a few big shots in the lower middle-order, like Justin Kemp. The people in charge keep saying that Irfan is not an all-rounder, so why do they treat the one real all-rounder like an extra? They're not helping themselves, and two defeats in this series are proof of that. He has to return for the final ODI, and he should be a frontliner, not a super-sub– let that be Agarkar or Karthik.

When did he do this? i don't remember.
Not for India, but he's done it a few times for Railways, Central Zone and India-A. He's hardly ever got a match for India, where his batting can come useful.

If the players don't exist then that has to be worked around.

Perhaps you need to revisit the reaction of some to the 2 innings then...
You mean delight for a champion playing well in his first knock after a serious injury?

Good reaction if you ask me. You however, as I distinctly remember, didn't say a word after consecutive demolitions of SL. Like popping up when he fails, yet disappear when he scores eh?
