Telecast doesn't start for another two and a half hours here so would much prefer there was an extra half hour at the end of the day if I could have a choice.
Does it start after Lunch? Made the trip to the casino just before, then realised the Rugby was on as well as the League and AFL so there was no chance of the cricket being on yet.

FFS Fred, do some work on your front foot, and I don't mean the ankle position, I've long since despaired of that.

You bowl too many no-balls. One day that could cost big-time, and it can so easily be sorted with a bit of concentrated work.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I want to see Freddie as I only got to watch one over of his live yesterday, but I hope Pattinson gets a decent chance, and takes a wicket or two. Agree that the selection was lacking in reason, but it's hardly his fault and I back everyone who plays for us, whether they should be there or not.
Short-term thinking FTW for you then?

The more I watch that Amla non-dismissal the more I can't believe the Saffies aren't four down

By decent chance I only mean in this game. Not saying I back the selection, but as he is playing for England I would like him to have a decent game.
Thing is, though, think this - if he does well here, he'll be in the mind for selection constantly. If he does poorly here, his selection could be written-off as a horrible mistake and he could never play again - which I'm near certain would be for the best.

I simply can't see Pattinson being a good long-term prospect.

I've not seen much of the guy before, only caught a couple of Notts ODs this season and don't really remember him doing much, so I don't know how good he is. If he does well, though, it might be because he's a good bowler. If he did keep his place and Sidebottom gets fit for the next Test, I would imagine it is Broad who would find himself in danger.

10.30pm according to the on screen guide. So coverage should start towards the end of lunch. Also feel like crap and am antibiotics here which sucks big time.

Hawks St Kilda shouldn't be bad in the meantime though.

Find it quite barmy the way you, EWS etc stay up into the night watching Cricket that your team ain't playing in. Barmy in a truly admirable sense, mind you.

If Pattinson turns-out good it'll be one of the biggest strokes of luck you'll ever see. And he's nearly 30 anyway.

Broad on.

You make your own luck though :p

Look, the bottom line is I want bowlers in the side who take wickets at less than 30 apiece, if Pattinson does that I'm happy, if not, so be it.
