Problem is Cricket Australia has stated the next keeper will not come from the older ranks (e.g. Haddin), but the new blooded players (Crosthwaite, Hartley, Ronchi, etc.)

Pretty immature of them to make such a strong demarcation based on age - if they have done so. Team building is one thing - choosing a player because of age is another.

Umm that theory is still to be proven against quality sides. Without Gillespie at his best, it is very doubtful 4 pronged is good enough. If not a 5th genuine bowler, a 5th player who can fill in a few overs (like Symonds in the 2nd test) is definitely needed according to me. We disagree then on this.

umm Symonds played a crucial part bowling wise bowling 20 overs in the first inning taking 3 wickets and taking 2 wickets in his 4 overs.
