Warne and MacGill have to play together in Sydney and for that to happen I think you need a third seamer. Unless there's another option I think they'll have to persist with Symonds. Could they bat Gilchrist at 6 and have Warne-Lee as 7 and 8? With Gilly's current form I doubt it but that's a possibility.
*cough* Cameron White bowls right arm inswing anyway *cough*
*cough* Keep working on those right arm mediums, Cossie *cough*
*cough* Jon Moss' domestic record's pretty good *cough*
*cough* I'd back Jaques to be a better medium pace bowler than Symonds *cough*

....bloody asthma

Channel Nine should leave the space where they usually denote whether a player is a batsman/bowler/keeper/all-rounder blank for Andrew Symonds.
LOL! One of the funniest things I've read for a long time

Gilchrist gone for an unconvincing 44.
ye he wasn't totally at his best seems to be getting his touch back though, lets say he had pulled that ball into the crowd and gotten to 50 he could have well and raced to a hundred...

HODGEY 150!!!!!!!!!!

Well done Hodgey, as I said earlier he received way too much criticism and mockery on this board for no reason other than the fact he's no Martyn. Great to see him playing such good cricket for Australia. :)

150 for Hodge, wonder if the tail last long enough if Punters will let him go for the 200.

edit: with Warne out now that seems unlikely

Great innings by Hodge, but let's hope the extra time that Ponting allowed him doesn't cost us the match.

I must say I never thought I would see the day when Shaun Pollock and Glenn McGrath are considered "Fast Medium" yet they are maxing (can't be sure) at 135/kmh and Charl Langeveldt is considered "Medium Fast".

Australia will do fine operating with 4 bowlers. They have done so successfully in the past and with two all time greats it isn't hard to see why. With 2 spinners it means that they can bowl the majority of the overs and the 5th bowler would never get a look in anyway.
So who bowls when the ball is 14-25 overs old?

How about a pair of hands to indicate a fielder?
