*Official* Second Test at the Adelaide Oval

Yeah fair enough. Was pleased to see he scored a few but from reading through here he struggled through. See how he goes tonight I guess. The key is to hang in there as long as we can with back to back tests.
From what I saw he struggled a bit. Played a nice pull shot but then top-edged/gloved the next one over the keeper. If Siddle gets a go early tomorrow and is moving them into him it will be interesting to see how he goes. I'm hoping for the double of England losing the 2nd Test and Prior getting out early enough not to play himself into any form. Given how hopelessly out of form he has been, I can't see it happening. But you never know. Am happy to see him score back-to-back quadruple centuries in the 4th and 5th Tests if we're 3-0 up after Perth though.

His problems with spin are pretty strange considering he was probably our most consistent player of spin through the three tours to UAE, Sri Lanka and India last year.

Can't cop this Lehman piece.

I thought they said he grew up in Galle.

Thought it was weird that he was racist towards a Sri Lankan when he's one himself..
i had to look up his profile to make sure that wasnt the case

want to make 2 points. one that leave from prior off johnsons just after the second new ball. it practically shaved the stumps. maximum half a centimetre in it, yet the hawkeye had it passing the stumps with at least quadruple that distance. unreliable technology, and here you have a reference point. would love someone who has the game taped to show the ball passing the stumps side by side with the hawkeye.

secondly, that the english leadership group should be held to account for the lack of spine in the first innings. that it took such an outburst from media including ex captains to get the players to dig in and play determined, rather than half way through the first innings. if it happens to piss down tomorrow this could yet be a really close series.

I'm a bit concerned it'll rain tomorrow and we'll only be 1-0 up going into Perth. With such a great get out of jail free card, the Poms might actually play a bit better and the series could get interesting. Am hoping we knock them over tomorrow without any bad weather interrupting so we only need to win 1 more/draw a couple.

I will point out that they've dug in, stuck it out, fought hard etc... and only just passed 200 on a still decent batting strip, six down.

I mean, look how far they are from 350.

Yeah, definitely having these thoughts too. Don't want to count any chickens yet, I've been burnt before by this Australian side.

We need an update from Geelong. Or howardj's weather forecasting.

If the howardj Board of Meteorology was based in Geelong I'm pretty sure climate change would have been solved already.

Don't worry, ****s, you'll be fine. It's not like you're New Zealand. When Australia's on top, it almost never rains.

Price they pay for living on an awesome green part of the world.
BTW having not seen your XI since your batting countdown, it looks different, is that a sign of what's to come in the bowling 100? Can't wait for that!

Oh boy, has Johnson really proved me wrong. Like others, I'm afraid of an England escape. Need to go 2-0.

Now we're in this good of a position, it would be good to be 2 up. Before the match I thought this was one of the only places the Poms would be the better side (AO). Momentum is a big factor but they still don't have anyone as pacy as MJ or even Harris. We don't have to win.
Hopefully the rain stays away though and it doesn't stop a second strong win.

Only cowards pray for rain. If they get a decent amount of play and England saves it, fair enough I reckon. Clarke knew about the weather and declared accordingly. Can't do much more than that
