Well we might reach 300 I guess if we get lucky. Root was unlucky but at least he is fighting.

No way back though once we are 2 down.

Well played Australia, totally outclassed us so far.

Has anyone ever come back from 2-0 down? The only series I can think of was 1936/37.
to win 3-2, no, no-one else has done it. no idea about coming back from 2-0 to draw the series and hence win it. cant think of a way to search that on statsguru

England lost the first two Tests against WIndies in 53/54 and then won the third and fifth to square the series

Surely Australia paying $1.19 is unbelievable value?!
Naturally. Doesn't seem like there'll be enough rain to save England.

The one problem might be that there has been a few miracle comebacks in recent times, but they're already basically given up I feel.

Indeed but his career has been longer than a year
It has, but if we're using that logic then Mitchell Johnson hasn't earned the right to say anything to the Poms, despite taking 17 wickets in the last 3 matches (unless, of course, we completely adapt it and say that seeing as though he took a lot of wickets against them once in Perth he has earned it). You can say anything you want whenever you want, but I don't think the argument that Prior having a decent career average earns him the right to have a go at a team that has him averaging about 14 against them this year is a solid one. Especially when that team apparently isn't that good.

Personally I don't have an issue with him having a chat, I don't think he started it. But his career average means **** all in the grand scheme of this series given how he's going at the moment.
