Great win. Disappointed with my effort, but more than enough brilliant performances from others to get us over the line easily. Keep it up.

Another win, and yet another screammer of a catch by Langers.

But really, i'm like mister score 10-30 every dig, nothing more and nothing less, what is up with me!
The team did pretty well also

This thread already makes me cry tbh. I look at the blues scorecards, realise I haven't been selected, and then cry. Then I pick myself up, tell myself that patience is a virtue and that my day in the sun will be just around the corner and then the next game arrives and I check the scorecard, see that I haven't made the team and I cry some more.

It's a vicious cycle.
Im starting to know what you mean, but both our teams are winning, yours more then mine, which is the main thing. Hopefully we get a couple games when the Tests start against England its always good to see yourself in the scorecard, regardless of how well you play.

Wow, 61*, I think that's my highest List A score :O.

Good victory team, well done to Sean and Marc with the bat, and then Andy, Nicky Borcich and Sean(again) with the ball.

Good show Reds, nice!
Yep, summed up nicely. Well done to yourself too, I think my OD career is now firmly over.

And you are correct, your highest List-A score used to be 57* - which was also your only half-century.

I think marc should pay more attention to posts like this.

He whinges about first-season players being dominant, but this is the other side of the coin. If first-season players arent any good, they dont get picked for their sides. And when you arent getting a game, CWXI just isnt fun. Sure you cheer for your side and wish your players well, but in your first season, you never really feel a HUGE amount of loyalty to your side anyway - you just want to get a bloody game.

People like blaze could easily just become discouraged and turn their backs on CWXI and the Dev League, which we dont want. We have to keep a balance between a realistic competition, and one that new members can participate in and enjoy.

If first-season players were all as poor as marc wants them to be, half of them would lose interest and never make it to their second season, which would be a disaster.

^ I actually played a couple of games at the end of last season and played club cricket in the off season but you are right it is my first full season and there hasn't been a lot to get excited about. How can it be fun when you hardly ever play?

You'll be playing a lot more in the near future, as the internationals are away for 5 tests and 7 ODIs. I see your point though.

I know how you feel, but in some cases you have to be good enough to get into the team in the first place :p I'm not, so yeah. It's frustrating, but then I guess it's like that for players trying to break through in cricket, so I guess it's all part of the game. The only thing I wish is that there was some way to improve form as the league goes on, simmed nets or something, which would improve your form but also increase the risk of injury next match 'cause you're knackered or somethign like that.

Wally West does it all doesn't he, opening bowler, handy dandy batsman and a keeper :D
I don't think he's very good at knitting, that would just be too unfair if he were an ace knitter as well!

That's a myth though.

Where have I said they should all sign up with rubbish stats etc.?

You've said none of them should compete with established players... meaning that all rookies who were not in an all-rookie team would be in the same boat as Blaze is.

No, I said they shouldn't be better than.

The situation where 3 rookie batsmen are more highly rated than established Internationals is simply not right.
