*Official* Season 10 Club Check-in

I check for new threads every two or so weeks during the club cricket season, and check more often during the dev league season. I would estimate that, during club cricket, there's a good chance I'd not check for a check-in thread given that I wouldn't (and didn't) expect one to go up when club cricket season is still only just past half-way through. I was just lucky. But if you consider me to be too inactive to keep if I don't happen to see such a thread then I guess that's your personal take on things. Not to be egotistical, but I think it would be a shame if CW DL lost an established player because he didn't happen to check into a thread during the off season.

I check all new threads (or threads that have new posts in them) everyime im on CW which is daily. Unless i know that the thread is rubbish e.g The Red Thread

The main reason I'm pointing all of this out is because the thread was started in the middle of the club season - and I was actually quite surprised to see this threads as I'm not used to dev league and club cricket threads overlapping (time-wise).

Surely that is to test those who are actually active rather than those that just post as and when they need to before each season.

Even a simple reminder in the club cricket thread would have been nifty.

Why?

A new thread is easy to see if people actually read the forums.

I imagine, after all, that we want to keep active players.

For me, coming in every 3 or 4 weeks and posting in a thread which is demanded, is not active. Needing to be told by someone else to post in a thread is not active.

I have to agree, with the large time Liam has given us to sign-in, if you don`t notice a brand-spanking new thread by then, that`s pretty poor.

Fair enough, if it's going to be open for 3-4 weeks then that's fine. I'm just used to these things being on a more strict deadline than the thread we have here.

All I'm saying is that if someone has made 17 posts in the club cricket thread as well as having voted for the 5D MVP (showing they were active at the end of last season, too), then why should they not be considered active purely because they missed a thread?

Also, someone might want to note that two CW Dev League captains haven't even signed in. Seriously, if we're going to dump them regardless of the fact that they're posting everywhere else, then I'm disappointed.

If I was stomping around like I own the place I'd be saying that we CAN'T throw those people out, not suggesting that we SHOULDN'T do it.

If I was witty and all that, I'd come up with a joke to make my post sound more light-hearted but sadly I lack comedic talent.
