AS Das (Reminder email sent)
JB Brown (I don't know his email and he hasn't posted for about a month)
JP McNamara (Reminder email sent, however I understand he's currently in Sri Lanka)
CD McKern (Reminder email sent)
KS Wright (Reminder email sent)
And this will prove these players active how exactly 8-)

Yeah, we probably should have just removed them all, huh?

I would not like players to be removed because they aren't aware they have to sign into this thread despite being an international or that they have to sign into this thread even if they've signed into their club thread. I for one would also rather encourage activity instead of going "If you don't check the forum during the off season, you can sod off!" :p

well I think mr Mcnamara has quite a good reason, and we all know that he wouldve posted if he wasnt doing something to do with this cool sport cricket.
apperently he's real good at it.

For crying out loud - how is not checking a forum for weeks on end, being active?
Marc, again, I like encouraging activity, even if I have to email players. I've emailed players in the past and upon doing so, they began being very active in here on their own with just one small reminder. Is that such a bad thing?

I don't blame people if they don't check a forum that has pretty much nothing happening in it for weeks on end, personally, and if we can get them back into the swing of things then that's great. Think positive!

These are players who've never really been round, so how is getting them to post in one thread saying that they're active? And how is emailing them to post in that one thread making them active?

As for nothing happening - if that's the case, how come there's been people posting every day?

Actually, they have. Kyle is a captain, McNamara was heavily involved in Colts selections last year and until he left for Sri Lanka was posting regularly. Das and McKern were both posting in all the threads last season and were also around for the start of club cricket. They were all "really around". Okay, Brown wasn't, but Kyle and I respect that and have talked to Liam about it and agreed that he should be deemed inactive regardless. *shrugs* Don't see the real problem there.

Indeed the idea is to enourage activity, if they dont want to come back they wont and they will be declared inactive but if they do and they post heaps thats excellent :)

The problem is though, if you remind these inactive players to declare their activity, there is every chance that they will come in here, do so, and then not return until next season when its time to declare their activity again.

I won't hesitate to deem players inactive midseason this season.

I think that prompting players who are on the forums regularly anyway is beneficial. If they become active, great. If not, they lose. If a team wants to take the risk of holding on to a person who declares himself active but probably won't remain active for very long, that's that team's choice.

Sound judgement liam, sounds reasonable, the teams perogative whether they remind their players of activeness.

Sorry to be checking in so late, but I've been overseas without access to a computer for the last few weeks. Just to officially check-in:

I thought like in previous seasons that contracted players didn't have to check in. I am grateful Daniel sent the email because I would hate to have been deemed inactive.
