WWE have just released Shelton Benjamin, Mickie James, Katie Lea, Funaki, Jessie and Jimmy Wang Yang. People like Funaki, Jessie and Jimmy Wang Yang I can understand but hearing about Shelton Benjamin and Mickie James being released came as a bit of a surprise.

I think Shelton's almost certain to go to TNA where he'd probably make a great addition to the X Division. It's clear that he wasn't going to get any sort of push in the WWE despite being such a great performer for all these years. I can see Mickie James going to TNA as well if her music career doesn't go so well.

Wasn't Shelton Benjamin going to be ****ing awesome?

Probably should have never given him that theme music.

Shelton could have great matches, but he was a bit of a botch-artist and had non-existant mic skills. He was a good servant and I think a release for him now was the best bet for both parties. The writing was on the wall when he never did a huge spot in MITB.

Personally think he'd be better suited in ROH.

Also, did anyone catch the Angle-Anderson cage match at Lockdown last week? Saw about half of it last night and what I saw was epic. Seek it out, people.

And duffer, you're a **** but yes, SD was great this week, Morrison and Swagger had another great match. Swagger may have lost a few times since becoming champion but his matches have been great. What's more, he won when the belt was on the line, which is what a true champion does.

Extreme Rules tomorrow as well, so I'll do my tips and what not now.

Shad V JTG
Ha, if you'd told me a month ago that this would have been on PPV I'd have been a bit, um,. But I'll hand it to them, they have done a decent job of making this feud watchable. I think Shad is going to get a decent heel push so he'll go over here.

Oh and I don't really like strap matches so it's a shame they haven't gone for a different stip but I'll live.
Winner: Shad

Michelle McCool V Beth Phoenix (Women's title, Extreme Makeover Match)
Not really sure what the stip is, possibly an Extreme Rules match but with household objects as weapons? Dunno. The diva's division doesn't excite me but these are probably the two best workers on Smackdown, with only Maryse and Gail who can match them over on the red brand, IMO. Beth has been after this title shot for ages, it's been built okay as for as women's stuff goes, and I'm thinking Beth will get the win.
Winner: Beth Phoenix

Edge V Chris Jericho (Steel Cage Match)
This should be all kinds of super-awesome, it's as simple as that. I think this is the blow-off, so Edge gets the win I think. Promo in the cage last night was top.
Winner: Edge

Triple H V Sheamus (Street Fight)
Another Mania match, and I thought they did an okay job there. The build for this has been hurt a little by the bloody volcano and Triple H not being in the UK the week before thanks to Stephanie going into labour. Sheamus got good heat by attacking Triple H as he was trying to say goodbye to HBK and they did do the little interaction between sledgehammer and steel pipe. Think this could be okay, tipping a win for Sheamus.
Winner: Sheamus

CM Punk V Rey Mysterio (Hair match)
Well anyone who read my ramblings on the house show I attended will know my thoughts on this feud. This match should be all kinds of awesome with them getting 10 minutes more than they did at Mania, I would imagine. Punk looks hideous with those lost strands of hair and it makes me think he'll lose, but I'm not sure. Punk to Raw is on the cards IMO, where a Randy-sized hole needs filling in the heel department, but I'd like to see these get one more go on PPV. Oh, so not sure. Anyway, regardless of the outcome, this should be great, how could it not be?
Winner: Rey Rey

Jack Swagger V Randy Orton (WHC title, Extreme Rules match)
These two had a great match on Raw a couple of weeks back. Full-on official face Orton on PPV will be great. I don't want him to win the title yet, I think it'd be awesome if he had a long chase for it and the fans went crazy when he finally won it again. I'm expecting a good match anyhow, and I think they are building up Swagger as a guy who loses a lot but wins when it matters, like Ric Flair.
Winner: Jack Swagger

John Cena V Batista (WWE title, Last Man Standing)
This feud has been great, even accounting for the fact that the E has spent more time replaying segments than doing new stuff. But yeah, everytime they have faced off, I loved it. Heel Batista is a breath of fresh air, intense Cena is Cena at his best IMO. All rumours point to Batista taking time off. I'm not so sure. It should be another really good match although I don't think they'll top their Mania effort. Cena will retain here, I reckon.
Winner: John Cena

Actually looks like a really good card, I won't be watching live but I'm sky+ing it Sunday night so I'll be avoiding this thread Monday. No Miz makes me a sad puppy, I think they were going to do ShoMiz-Hart Dynasty but the volcano sidetracked the programme. Nonetheless, there's a couple of filler matches but as with Mania the card is packed with main event talent.

I agree with all of your predictions for Extreme Rules so I won't bother to post my predictions for the PPV. It's looking like an average show to me and the build hasn't been that great.

I'd expect Chris Jericho vs Edge to steal the show again and it's disappointing that there is no Unified Tag Team, US or IC Title match. Shad vs JTG is the real surprise, I never would've thought that they would be in a program, let alone in a PPV.

Overall, not really caring about the show as such and won't be getting it. I'm looking forward to the draft though on Raw and WWE have a real opportunity to make things interesting and switch up the brands.

Mmm, I would also agree with these predictions. I don't think I will watch however, am struggling to get over my post WM slump.

Looks like Batista is on his way out of the WWE. It's being going around that he wasn't happy about WWE taking him out of their latest film project and replacing him with Triple H.

It's also going around that because he's getting older he's tired of the busy travel schedule that WWE has. It looks like we may have another guy possibly heading to TNA in the near future.

Haha, would have to laugh if Batista ended up in TNA, it really would be a huge signing for them, but at the same time it would be another huge case of "aah another WWE wash up". Can't see it happening just yet though, he is still a massive draw for the E so I would be very surprised if they were to let him go easily.

Hmmm, maybe I will have to eat my words. Rumours going around the IWC do seem to indicate that Batista may actually finish with the E as early as this week. I would still be surprised if it happened...but people do seem to be considering it a genuine possibility.

Christian and Kofi Kingston being drafted to Smackdown is fantastic. Smackdown lost Edge and Chris Jericho to Raw so they both have a real opportunity to be big time players on Smackdown.

Roster shakeups are looking quite decent atm actually. Imagine we'll see MVP headed back over to Smackdown at some point soon as well, with Morrison being moved over to RAW I would say that there is a huge danger that he may be lost in the shuffle. Also JTG going over Shad at Extreme Rules, didn't see that coming, surely he's not in line for a push? Would enjoy it if he was though.

Smackdown got annhilated, Raw is now worthy of its flagship status. Nice opportunity for Christian, Kofi, MVP and Rhodes though.

WIll post more detailed thoughts when I next get the chance
