Mania isn't until the end of March, why rush? This is where WWE generally excel themselves, the well-paced Mania build up. I thought it was perfect.yeah... looks like there is no truce yet between Bret and Shawn... Apparently, Bret had a big celebration with the whole RAW roster after RAW went off air yesterday. Guess who were MIA.. Shawn, Triple H and Hornswoggle...
Seriously, all you get out of Shawn and Bret is that lame handshake and hug????? It is so easy to play off Shawn's changed persona.. Have him dog Bret to ask for his forgiveness. Bret doesn't budge.. Vince steps in. Stuff boils over and voila, we get Bret Vs Shawn V3... I am pretty sure Shawn can take as much bumps as Vince can in a street fight...
Haha, will always like Waltman, but got to say, there is no way he is of any use in TNA right now, neither is Scott Hall. Ironically I think Waltman could be made credible if he was signed with the E again, and a lot of work was put in, but for TNA this just looks like another case of them signing up an old has been and scraping the barrel, which it is I suppose. Not sure why they have bothered either, an NWO reunion seems to be in the works, but when you already have Hogan, Nash and Hall I'm not sure why the hell you would bother dragging Waltman along as well.Oh and I haven't seen Impact yet but I'm disappointed that Flair has gone there, and Jeff. Sounds like an interesting show but I don't think it will be enough to ignite a new series of wars just yet. TNA need some fresher idea. Jeff is a good idea as he was HUGELY over this year, but let's be honest, when was Waltman last relevant? 1998?
At least now with guys like Hardy in the mix they are developing some sort of depth in their divisions. Bischoff scares me for them though, he is a proven failure at developing stars and getting them over and is completely inadequate at getting his ME guys work for the company as opposed to themselves. The problem is though, that TNA's main event is totally stale. Even if they shove Hogan in there and the rest of his cronies to feud with Foley, does anyone really want to see that? I for one do not, maybe ten years ago I would have. Otherwise, most of the ME potential from the current crop of guys has been used up. Joe, AJ, Angle, Sting, Jarrett have all had countless matches now, and shunting Foley and Hogan up there isn't going to improve things whatsoever. Though Matt Morgan's push has been great, he is nowhere near over enough to to take on a world title with the hope of improving the image of the company long term. The only guys I can think of who would be well suited to this at the moment would be Bobby Lashley, who appears to be jetting off to try and get more into MMA, and Jeff Hardy who has been put back in the midcard and much as I love the guy I wouldn't say he is the kind of person they ought to be trying to build a company around. All these changes they have brought about have to start working and improving things pretty damn fast, because if TNA can't start to get things on track I doubt they ever will.
I agree with near enough all of that, my main real gripe with TNA though is that with all this new talent etc... at their disposal, with any luck in about 3 months time they should be arriving at the kind of stage they should have been at a year or two ago. If they could have caught up with the E whilst they went through their sticky mediocre patch rather than arsing around with a load of grandpas on roids then they could have made things genuinely interesting, hey they still might, but now that the E is undoubtedly on the rise and probably at it's strongest and most interesting since 2004 it's going to be a real uphill battle. Like you say though, exciting for the viewer. At least now with guys like Hardy in the mix they are developing some sort of depth in their divisions. Bischoff scares me for them though, he is a proven failure at developing stars and getting them over and is completely inadequate at getting his ME guys work for the company as opposed to themselves.
What they really should be doing now is using guys like Hogan to draw money while at the same time finding and putting over future quality. Still not seeing it from them which makes me believe these new wars will go the way of the first ones. Hope otherwise though, seems a genuinely exciting time to be back into pro-wrestling.
u know.. all these rumous abt Trips being unhappy with Bret could well be planted by insiders to make it sound like "real" heat between them... It is not unheard of recently, with WWE, to go down that route..Keep Trips and Shawn as far away from each other as possible let alone involved in Bret's storyline. They are the epitomy of stale on screen and 99% of their matches are complete no-shows with neither of them wanting to lose anything.
Apparently Vince and Hbk both were happy to put it behind them and draw money with Bret's return but Hunter wanted him as far away from the company as possible. Disaster waiting to happen putting him anywhere near it. At least with Taker involved he'll do everything possible to make it work for Bret booking wise which evens up the political aspects of a Vince-Bret and Hbk-Taker combination.
Dire. Is about all I have to say about that. Not sure how the Nasty Boys, as much as I do mark for them, being thrust into a program with 3D does TNA any good.
3D are a shadow of their former selves, and the Nasties are hardly in the position to carry anyone.
Apart from the fact it's been reported since 97 that they hated each other and that HHH-Hbk feuds and matches are stale as **** I'd agree with you.u know.. all these rumous abt Trips being unhappy with Bret could well be planted by insiders to make it sound like "real" heat between them... It is not unheard of recently, with WWE, to go down that route..
And I think HHH/HBK will be better if they do it with Bret involved.. As I said, it would give a fresh angle to any real keyfabe hate between HBK and HHH. And I don't think HHH is dumb enough to let it leak on the internet that he doesn't like Bret, especially at this point... I think there is a good chance all this is juz a "work" by the WWE to swerve the IWC.
