Alrighty Royal Rumble Predictions. One of the few shows I ever get excited enough to buy. This year we have a solid undercard and the actual Rumble match is probably my favourite match of the year almost guaranteed. Although last year's Mania Main Event and Eddie Lesnar topped it.

But anyways on to this years card:

Shawn Michaels vs Edge:

Edge needs the win more to keep up the momentum he's been gainng and Michaels definitely owes him after the NYR Chamber match where he actually did screw him over. Thing is I can't see a clean job on Shawn's part so either he'll win the match or he'll lose it very dirty. Either way expect the two to come into the actual Rumble match at a similar time and continue their feud. Hopefully Shawn can step up his in ring game and put on a match these two talents are worthy of putting on.
Prediction: Shawn, probably in a clean win

Heidenreich vs The Undertaker - Casket Match

Funny I've become a Heidenreich fan recently. He's been booked really well, cuts good "******-psychotic" promos and his past couple of PPV matches with Taker were very solid. I still fear that Taker needs to lose to Heidenreich once to make this feud worthwhile and I'd rather it happen now than at Mania, which is what could happen. However I think Taker won't go under just yet.
Predition: Taker, clean win

WWE Championship Triple-Threat Match

JBL(C) vs The Big Show vs Kurt Angle

I just don't care enough to get worked up about this match. This whole feud being focussed on Amy vs Joy and really killed any momentum SD! had been building till about a month ago. All I hope is that Bradshaw holds his title and puts Cena over at Mania, but with John holding his own Customary US Title belt I can't see him going up the card for a while :@ . But meh I still believe JBL will pull out all stops and win i again. His actual in-ring matches don't bore me anymore, he's stepped up his in-ring work to a good level since becoming Champion. I'd liek to see how he goes in a non-gimmick title defence before too long though.
Prediction: JBL, probably by DQ as both Angle and Show don't usually job cleanly.

World Heavyweight Championhip Match

Triple H(C) vs Randy Orton

A reasonably well-wokred angle here, no thanks to Orton's mic-work I must add, but this feud should hopefully end here. Orton not being in the Rumble fills me with hope that he won't ME Mania, and I reckon for this year at least a two-month feud with an upper-card heel culminating at Mania would do him a world of good. Next year he can go over at Mania and I won't complain too much. Problem is that RAW is too face-heavy at the moment and finding a suitably over heel to feud with Orton is difficult. So I think he'lll somehow find his way into Mania and we'll see another Triple Threat at Mania. Two years in a row isn't smart booking but that's what we're looking at now.
Prediction: Triple H and please let it be clean, but somehow I doubt it

30 Man-Over The Top Rope Royal Rumble Match

Winner to wrestle in the Main Event at Wrestlemania

This match should be awesome, the entrants as of now are:

Raw:
- Edge.
- Shelton Benjamin.
- Christian.
- Kane.
- Chris Jericho.
- Shawn Michaels.
- Chris Benoit.
- Gene Snitsky.
- Simon Dean.
- The Hurricane.
- Jonathan Coachman.
- Viscera.
- Batista.
- Muhammad Hassan.
- Ric Flair.

Smackdown:
- Daniel Puder.
- Booker T.
- Charlie Haas.
- Luther Reigns.
- Mark Jindrak.
- Orlando Jordan.
- Scotty 2 Hotty.
- John Cena.
- Rey Mysterio.
- Eddie Guerrero.
- Kenzo Suzuki.
- Hardcore Holly.
- Rene Dupree.
- Paul London.
- 1 spot left for the Smackdown roster.

In my opinion, Batista is the only one here with a shot at winning the whole thing. A month-long tease and the pops he's getting won't be wasted by the WWE, especially since he's the only person Vince has bothered to push for the actual match itself. Much like Benoit last year(except Batista can't go for an hour straight) Dave should win this one.

I can see Cena winning it at a stretch, especially if something goes wrong with Batista(injury/illness etc) but he's only really had one promo so I can't see him winning it for now. His deserved push will come later.

No-one can credibly win this with the buildup we've had but theres still a lot of interesting mini-feuds that can be furthered during the match.

Jericho/Benoit has been simmering for a little while and there might be some confrontation here if one eliminates/ causes the other to be eliminated. But if they go with the Hassan/Jericho angle then it should start here at the Rumble and whoever eliminates Hassan should cop the full force of his heel reaction.

Edge and Michaels should obviously also continue their feud and the fallout from their match will be interesting, also Kane and Snitsky both being in the Rumble should be fun, as should Haas and Shelton coming up against each other, and seeing guys like Benoit and Eddie wrestle each other will be a treat.

Eddie/Rey/Booker and their current situation should also take a twist at the Rumble, I still fear an Eddie heel turn, hopefully it doesn't happen.

Going into Mania we need our share of interpromotional matches and, just like Lesnar/Goldberg,Taker/Kane from last year the feuds should start here. I'd love to see Eddie/Benoit, Rey/Jericho for Mania but I doubt it'll happen.

The last SD! spot looks interesting too. The rumours currently doing the rounds are that Lesnar,Iron Shiek(!),Psichosis are rumoured to be filling in the last spot. My dream would be for Sting to show up, like Rocky wanted but seeing Brock or Psichosis return would make me mark out hard. Hopefully we won't get punched in the balls by Vince and see someone like Spike or Shannon Moore instead.

Those are my pre-Rumble thoughts/wishes. Be interesting to see how wrong I am this time tommorow. Post Rumble analysis sometime this week!!

Agree with your predictions to an extent. As a long time Triple H fan I really hope he annihilates Orton and that too cleanly. Thank God for once the Internet is not picking on Triple H.

He's the only guy who carries the Raw belt with the prestige, honour and meaning that it deserves. Orton having the belt would be terrible for Raw.

With regards to Batista, how good is this guy? The man oozes calmness, coolness, charisma that was never seen before and his stature is just unbelievable. The hard work he's put into his character has been amazing and I really hope Batista wins the Rumble.

I'll be cheering on Batista and Captain Charisma in the Royal Rumble. John Cena can go to hell.

Lets Go Big Dave!

Batista giving Luther Reigns and John Cena two of those big Batista Bombs would be so much fun.

Wow, Psychosis, Brock Lesnar, Iron Sheikh....

What about Stone Cold Steve Austin?

He signs a three year deal with the WWE Films division, perhaps he's in line for a brief rumble cameo appearance?

never count out Michaels when it come to the 30 man rumble. I think Hassan needs to lose to bring himself back down to earth.

haha I know you all know I don't like wrestling anymore but i was flipping thru the channels and what was on tonite but the royal rumble. I saw the last half of the main royal rumble match. So many news guys r there now.....everyone teamed up on the poor Hassan guy and threw him out as soon as he entered. And Batista won at last. Wow wasn't he the guy who used to be Devon's sidekick?

Yes, perfect predictions from duffer and just what I was expecting.

It was fantastic that Triple H won clean and Dave Batista won the Royal Rumble.

I can look forward to an exciting clash ahead at WrestleMania 21, lets hope WWE don't stuff it up and make it a Triple threat match with Triple H vs Randy Orton vs Batista for the World Title.

Batista deserves a one on one championship match with Triple H.

Also, it was so satisfying to see that lame idiot John Cena get planted on his backside and be eliminated. It's not your turn right now Cena, it's Big Dave's.

All in all, a pretty solid PPV with the right and logical outcomes.

RAW is coming to Sydney in April!!!!!! Holy sh1t this is awesome. Both shows are going to come down under, RAW goes to Brisbane,Newcastle and Sydney while SD! goes to Melbourne and Adelaide.

I saw Angle wrestle Eddie last time SD! came to Sydney, so for RAW to top that I'm hoping to see Jericho vs Benoit. Me and my mates are gonna hit the "You Screwed Bret" chants for HBK, last time we did that to him he didn't know what was going on :D . We're as far from Canada as he can hope to be. Tickets on sale laterthis month.

WWE have been coming to Australia since 2002. Hell they go everywhere nowadays since they are the only mainstream company left. With their roster split of Raw and Smackdown it allows them to tour the world more.

The Royal Rumble was the first actual good PPV for a long long time. A lot of cool moments during the rumble match, and the undercard was very very solid. I was really really angry when they did the whole cliche 'last two men eliminated at same time' thing with Batista and Cena. Lucky they restarted the match and the right man won!

How hilarious were the "Randy Sucks" chants at the Royal Rumble. If that's not a sign to the WWE that Orton sucks, and shoving him down all our throats is not going to get everyone to like him, then I don't know what is.

By the way, does anyone know what happened to Vince when he ran in at the end? Did he hurt his ankle or something sliding in the ring? Because he sat down in the ring, and I'm sure he was trying to cover up the fact that he couldn't stand. Who the hell just sits in the ring? It looked awkward.

Also, did anyone see Paul London's spot? That clothesline from Snitsky, with London doing a 'shooting star press' fall on to the floor was amazng. I hate that the WWE just use London as a bump machine, but boy he does it better than anyone else (bar probably Spike Dudley).

Haven't seen Raw or Smackdown yet. Taped them both, been busy lately. Hope they followed up the Rumble well.

I have that magazine. That's from 2002 right?

Oh and back at the Ruthless Aggression tour in 2003 my mates and I chanted "You Screwed Bret" to Earl Hebner when he was walking to the back. He was so shocked, he turned around and gave us a 'DX Like' crotch chop. We p*ssed ourselves laughing!

I could of sworn a few months ago you were an Orton fan, and we argued about when I said he sucked. I even remember you having Randy Orton in your avatar :p Glad you've seen the light. ;)

I think it's about time WWE acknowledges the untiring work Chris Jericho has put in, by elevating him to the level of a credible challenger for the World Title. Triple H v Batista is awesome, but that feud without the title too would be good enough to sell itself.

I actually don't mind the fact that Triple H vs. Batista will be for the title at Mania (unless they shove Orton in there, then I'll mind), but if Triple H loses (which all logic points to) and puts over Batista, I would really like Triple H to stay away from the world title for a while. I don't mean letting Batista have it for a few months with continous feuds against Triple H (like Benoit's reign), I mean staying away and letting Batista run with it properly. Batista vs. Edge would own after Mania. Batista vs. heel Kane also (but Kane is tweening now so who knows).

What I hope Triple H doesn't do in 2005 after Mania is stay in the main event, and push the world title away from attention. Even the blindest of Triple H fans would have noticed that last year heading into Bad Blood the Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels feud was seen to be more important than the world title feud between Benoit and Kane. Now that was not on. Why is the world title only important when Triple H has it, or is feuding for it?

Trips going into Mania with the world title is fine (even though he's been in the world title match at Mania 4 years in a row now  ), but during the year he should let others have serious shots (no I don't mean shoving Jericho in the Elimination Chamber and calling that a title shot).

Agreed with the above. Triple H in my eyes is the greatest of all time, but now he's gotten to the point where he doesn't need the World Title to establish his staying power or credentials in the WWE.

Triple H after feuding with Batista could move onto Ric Flair perhaps (if Ric turns on Triple H and sides with Batista).

Triple H vs Christian would be another feud I'd love to see.

A face Triple H vs Mohammad Hassan?

Triple H vs The Rock once more without any title (if Rock comes back in one of his breaks pre or post WrestleMania).

The feud I'd like to see most is Triple H vs Christian, in which Triple H puts over Christian and that catapults Christian's main event status.

I do admit, I liked Orton in his heel character. I thought Orton could've been one of the best heels in the WWE after Triple H if he would've kept up his heel character.

I also decided to give him a shot as a face, but after weeks and weeks or should I say months and months of mediocre performances on the mic and in the ring, and having JR shove him down our throats as the 'new Rock', I've gotten sick of him.

Either turn him heel again, or see him suck some more. All the good work he did as heel has been erased with this failure of a face turn.

Agreed they do as well, but a face champion always gets more stale, more quickly then a heel champion, and without a doubt Triple H is the WWE's best heel at this present time.

I agree Triple H is an awesome heel champ, and I'll never deny that. However Jericho was an awesome heel champ too back in 2001/2002.

I think I love you  :p

Have any of you guys seen Raw or SD? Were they any good?
