RAW has better women wrestlers.Peanutbutterbar said:Smackdown has better divas tho.
That's an arguable point, IMO. Apart from Chris Benoit and a couple of others, RAW wrestlers can be classified as brawlers, whereas Smackdown has more technical wrestlers.Piper said:Yeh i think RAW has the better wrestlers (thats my opinion before anyone starts)!
there is nothing "technical" in wrestling.Sudeep said:That's an arguable point, IMO. Apart from Chris Benoit and a couple of others, RAW wrestlers can be classified as brawlers, whereas Smackdown has more technical wrestlers.
Yeah, there is; entertainment or not.ReallyCrazy said:there is nothing "technical" in wrestling.
ummm there used to be but IMO not anymore. This hatred I have towards wrestling is just because I was so much into it during the old days when it was "real wrestling." There were guys like Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Classical Undertaker, Tatanka, Lex Luger, Yokozuna....and so on. When these guys left or were fired, there has been nobody to replace them. Even the storylines back in the day was so good but now it just doesn't make sense. I hate this whole "attitude" era and what it brought. Wrestling used to be something I could watch as a kid along with my whole family but now I don't think its fit for 10 year olds to watch.Mr Casson said:Yeah, there is; entertainment or not.
masterblaster said:Raw was interesting in Toronto. Although I liked it when the people cheered Christian and Triple H and booed the predictable faces.
Good to see for a change.
Tell me about it! I'm sick of seeing these random garbage Divas parade on my television screen, taking up valuable TV time, while Booker T barely appears on shows (wasn't on SD 2 weeks ago) as well as other young cruiserweights. Where's Billy Kidman gone? Where's Chavo? What the hell happened, they were building this feud and just dumped it!duffer said:Taker should win it, but I got a sneaky suspicion that he'll have to job to Heidenreich sometime. Hopefully not at the rumble.
Also, London and Akio put on ANOTHER 5-Star cruiser match on Velocity this week. Why can't we get Velocity in Australia? With guys like Haas,London,Akio and Chavo on it nearly every week, I'd rather watch that than seeing Joy and Amy waste 30 minutes of my life like last week's Smackdown!. I'm gonna go a searching for the torrent of this week's show.
After this week's raw I think the Hassan/Jericho thing was just temporary, but I can't be sure. However I'm positive they're building for a Rey vs. Eddie feud. Whether they turn Eddie heel or not, I'm not sure. It could happen.duffer said:Also, the WWE are teasing an Eddie heel turn, they even had him abandon Mysterio at a house show, and on the RAW side Hassan seems set for a program with Jericho, they've wrestled against each other at a couple of house shows now in apparently good matches.
What do we all think?
Spot on there Jono with everything you've said, Couldn't have summed it all up better myself.Jono said:Raw Thoughts
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Shawn Michaels beats Christian again. For God's sake! Christian is younger, currently better in the ring when given time and is the future of the WWE, but when was the last time he actually won a God damn match that meant something? He's the WWE's mid card jobber. It's bad enough that Jericho is the WWE's main event jobber, but Christian is in an even worse position. Oh well, it was fun as hell seeing Michael's ass booed again in Canada and 'Captain Charisma' Christian get cheered. I love it when the WWE go to Canada for PPVs and shows. Whether it be Toronto, Montreal or wherever, it's absolutely hilarious and fun to see. Last night the Christian Coalition and the peepulation were rocking the joint.
This Edge vs. Michaels feud is heating up well I must admit. It looks like they'll end up battling at Wrestlemania 21 ala Michaels vs. Jericho back at Wrestlemania 19. I swear, if the same result happens, and Michaels wins for no God damn reason, I'll blow up. Speaking of Edge, why does JR keep refuse to call Edge's submission move the Edgecation? He was doing that move all the way back in 2002 on Smackdown. It's been 2 years JR, and you still call it "the submission move". For Christ's sake, you're a play by play commentator. Get it right.
The Triple H/Batista feud continues to be hinted. First Triple H lets Batista be pinned in the Elimination Chamber at NYR. Then he costs Batista the number one contender's spot. Now this time on Raw he tells Batista he's selfish for wanting to be in the Royal Rumble. The WWE sure are taking this turn slowly, but they're obviously leading it up to Mania. It's clear they are turning Batista face, considering they had him battle against Viscera, a heel. The intent was to get the crowd even more behind Batista, and further personify his power. Job was done, but the match was crap.
What sucked on Raw was the crappy promo between Triple H and Orton. My God did that suck ass. Really Orton give it up. He may as well not bother speaking, because his looks are getting him where he is at today. He may as well just take off his shirt, have the girls scream, and then hit the RKO, have the mark guys scream, and leave the arena. At least the Orton vs. Triple H match is taking place at the Rumble. The hint of Batista rebelling against Triple H's orders, and taking part in the Rumble could result in him winning the thing, and going on to Mania to face Triple H. If that happens, boy oh boy would that be the perfect opportunity to put Batista over. Imagine Michaels putting Edge over, and Triple H putting Batista over? Wait... maybe I shouldn't get my hopes up. Wrestlemania 19. Triple H and Michaels didn't put Booker and Jericho over respectively then when I expected them too, so I will just hope rather than expect this time.
Jericho vs. Benoit was good, but I suspect that they are planning something between them. I don't think this was a one-off. If it was, why have Benoit save Jericho from Hassan, and why have the whole little face-off at the end? There has to be something more. And since the WWE have forgotten about both Benoit and Jericho leading into Wrestlemania, they probably took the easy way out and plan on having them go against each other. Lazy booking, considering how over both wrestlers are, but if it results in a *** 1/2 to **** 1/2 match at Wresltemania 21, I definitely won't be complaining.
Hassan continues to OWN Raw. God this man has talent. His mic skills own, and he hits the downward spiral/flatliner brilliantly. Better than Scott 'Has Been' Steiner did, and better than Edge did in the old days. Hell, he even hits it better than the great Kanyon. Hassan =
Kane vs. Snitsky was alright. The final spot was cool, but the best bit about the last 15 minutes of Raw was Kane's chokeslam to Trish. Now that is a true "Holy Sh*t" moment. The good old ECW crowds would of loved that one.
That's all I can remember of Raw from the past few weeks.
Smackdown Thoughts
Wow has Smackdown sucked ass recently! I'm not really looking forward to this week's one when it airs Saturday. This JBL vs. Big Show vs. Angle feud has been done the wrong way. Why do I give a crap about useless reject Divas contestants from the Raw Diva Search competition? Amy Weber? Joy Giovanni? I don't care. Why centre the main event WWE title feud around them? Garbage! This title feud doesn't even deserve a mention at the moment, and they better make it interesting quick. By interesting I mean real tension, not fake tension because Big Show's "girlfriend" was seen in the shower or abducted. Come on!
Oh, and I love Angle to death, but his invitational is a waste of TV time. Its useless, really is.
Now the best bits of Smackdown have been... YOU GUESSED IT! Eddie and Rey. First Rey pins Eddie in the tag title match 3 weeks ago. Then he pins Eddie in their one on one match 2 weeks ago. Then last week he pins Eddie again eliminating Booker & Eddie from the 4 way elimination tag title match. These are all good signs. I hate the Basham brothers, I really do (Yes I've heard they were talented in OVW but they haven't showed it so meh) but I don't mind that they have the tag titles. It now allows for Rey to get out of the tag division since RVD is injured, and to possibly have a singles feud with Eddie. To quote a great television show, "That's Gold Jerry... GOLD!
HOLY Cow did Cena suck last week on SD. His promo was the corniest piece of crap I've ever heard. I actually liked Cena back in 2003. Both when he was a heel, and even after his face turn when he was challenging for Brock's title with Benoit. Hell, I even completed career mode with him on Smackdown Here Comes The Pain on my PS2. But now he is just garbage. What the hell is the "Chain Gang"? Are we back in the 1980s? Why are they trying to build him like Hogan, except a rapper. The Chain Gang is the lamest thing I've heard. Yet he's getting pushed over people like Christian. Actually, I can't blame them for pushing him, because he's mega over, the fans love him for some weird reason. They like the spinny belt, and holding up signs saying "I'm part of the Chain Gang... yay!". And these aren't kids. These are grown men.
Peepulation > Chain Gang
Every time Carlito is on SD, even if its for 5 minutes, he steals the show. His petition to remove Teddy Long as General Manager is hilarious. 2 weeks ago when he asked the referee to sign his petition whilst a match was going on was a ****er. Good old Carlito. Now that's cool. I hope his injury is healing fast, because SD needs him back!
Overall
Right now Raw is going solidly, hinting at some good feuds building up to Mania, whilst Smackdown is sucking ass. Man, SD went down hill when Brock Lesnar left, but it was starting to pick up just between No Mercy and Survivor Series when Carlito debuted and they were pushing Booker T etc. Now it's gone back to the gutter.
However, on the bright side, I bet the WWE will pick up ten fold after the Royal Rumble. That's what the WWE does ever year. Between the Royal Rumble and Wresltemania, the WWE writers and bookers always decide to start caring again and awesome shows occur. However after Backlash, they stop caring again.
Oh well, I'll watch Smackdown this week hoping for a good show. By God SD needs it.
Yeah Right...masterblaster said:Spot on there Jono with everything you've said, Couldn't have summed it all up better myself.
Christian Deserves More.
Canadian fans are off the hook, Michaels winning even though everything was booked for him to lose the match is no surprise really. The guy's lost the "it" factor he had on the mic and his in-ring work is poor know, especially considering how amazing he used to be. His matches now consist of a few chops here and there, some bump on the apron, excessive atomic drops and weak as clotheslines. His age shouldn't be a factor, for pete's sake Benoit is the same age as him and he goes as well as he ever did, even despite his injuries. Perfect time and place to give Captain Charisma a big win and HBK hogs the spotlight again. Wow. You can forget about him putting Edge over at Mania even though it's the right thing to do and would help the business.Jono said:ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Shawn Michaels beats Christian again. This has gotta happen, but I suspect Orton will force his way into it somehow. I like the way the turn is going and the tweener pops Batista is getting means soon it'll be perfect for a turn. I'd love Dave to win the Rumble and then have Trips try and convince him to go over to Smackdown and challenge JBL, only to have Batista choose Triple H's title . That'd be brilliant, but I'm not too confident of it. If it is a HHH vs Batista at Mania I think H will put him over, manily because he's a big fan of his. Trips aparently doesn't liek Jericho or Booker so he wouldn't job there but Batista is a different case.Jono said:The Triple H/Batista feud continues to be hinted. They're teasing a Benoit heel turn as well I belive which would be worse than an Eddie turn, as both, especially Eddie are still over. I still believe Hassan and Jericho could still be on, as he's the one that Vince tends to feed to any new heel on the show. It's give him great cred going over Jericho, and Chris is so over despite this many jobs that it shouldn't harm him too much.Jono said:Jericho vs. Benoit was good, but I suspect that they are planning something between them. Remember when Show used to be a monster? Boy that was greta back in the day. Having T&A as the centrepiece of an ME feud is bullsh1te. Notice how the upsurge in SD's shows coincided with Heyman being given increasing control over booking and now that Steph is back we see crap like this. I understand WWE needs Divas to get horny 12 year old boys to watch but why have them in the Main Event?Jono said:Wow has Smackdown sucked ass recently! Angle is apparently still way too injured to work more than a couple of decent matches per month, so I guess this sstill gets him on television, and SD with Angle is a lot better than without him. Yeah fair point. I actually wouldn't be surprised if its Orton vs. Batista vs. Triple H at Mania. They'll give it some crappy name with Evolution in there. Hopefully Batista wins, because he more cheers than Orton did when they went one on one, and when you think that all of 2004 was spent pushing Orton while Batista did nothing, its amazing. Either Orton just sucks, or Batista rules to such an amount that they don't even have to push him for him to be over.duffer said:This has gotta happen, but I suspect Orton will force his way into it somehow. No, the highlight of his career was King Mabelduffer said:As for Viscera, hen needed Benoit to his carry his ass a couple of weeks ago for him to have a solid match. The highlight of his career for sure was gettiing Germaned by Chris.

Big Show in WCW as The Giant ruled! He was built so well, really looked like a monster. Even when he came to the WWE in 1999 he looked awesome. He had an awesome image. Now he's just a fat ass who is being pushed by having Joy Giovanni get all the attention :-/duffer said:Remember when Show used to be a monster? Boy that was greta back in the day. I don't know about Jindrak. They keep pushing him because he has the look, but I'm not a real fan of his. Apparently since Steph has come back, she's not wanting to Push Cena because she believes he doesn't interact with the crowd enough. Thus this whole "Chain Gang" crap, and the corny catchphrases like "Want some, come get some". Cena is a joke now.duffer said:I really hate seeing Cena like this. As a heel he had it going for him. Depsite being in the ring he had such a strong attitude about him you knew he'd go far. His face turn was good but now he's just stale. He's still the most over guy on the show, so Vince won't be doing anything to change what's happening there.
Rey would be better off in the US title division with a feud against Carlito. Their one match on SD was great.duffer said:I'd hate an Eddie heel turn seeing how unbelievabbly over he is, I think guys like Jericho could use it more but if he feuds with Rey it'd be alright I guess.
That's good news, but I wonder why they bother? They don't use them. Still, Psychosis rules. They should bring in La Parka too. Him dancing with his chair = ratings.duffer said:Also, WWE are apparently signing Psychosis and Super Crazy and bringing back Ultimo!!!! I would mark out for this but seeing as though they'll all be on Velocity and not on SD! it's just a waste. ANyone remember all thos crazy Rey vs PSychosis matches in WCW and ECW? They can turn it on big time.
