The WI team seem to be doing better under Chanderpaul and Lara seems to be playing better without the added Captaincy IMO.

Lara since his return following the sponsorship debacle:

196(334) & 4(6), 176(274) & 13(37), 4(18), 130(189) & 48(73), 125*(216)

696 runs @ 99.43 out of a team total of 1147 in that time (ie over 60% of the team total scored whilst at the crease!)

Simply amazing.

I certainly am Worried. Next WI tour is to SL . Last tour to SL, Lara scored 2 double centuries and over 600 runs in a 3 test rubber . :@

And wasn't he ill at that time as well?!

Border's record is in serious danger the rate he's going.

I think Ricardo Powell should be considered seriously for a recalll to the ODI team. Dwayne Smith is just not doing it. Powell's more dependable believe it or not.

Does Reon King serve any purpose really? He should be gone as well as Browne. Bring in either Baugh or Ramdin and one of Best, Lawson or Taylor (if Edwards is fit). Also, Collins should get another chance. He's the highest ranked Windies Test bowler.

I believe the bowling attack should consist of Collymore, Collins, Powell, Bravo and Mohammed/Hinds. Or something like that mix anyway.

Rose makes a very good point about Collins not being in the team... that`s just weird. Even Bradshaw... maybe. :p

Wow, this is an incredible run of form. 696 runs @ 99.54 at a strike rate of 73.03 since Shiv took over. Steve Waugh's mark could be overtaken tomorrow, if Lara manages to add another 138.

Incidentally, Lara's average (54.49) is at its highest level since 1997.

King is no longer the bowler he was 5 years ago, he has lost everything, he should be in the WI team, bringing in Baugh or Ramdin at this stage is sending a boy to do a mans job i know Browne isn't the best but gradually he has improved has the West Indian season has progressed so for now he is the best option.

no no the best windies bowling attack should be Collins, Edwards, Best/Collymore (Depending on whether the selectors want another quick bowler option behind edwards or the accuracy of Collymore) and Bravo.

Back up would come form the likes of Powell, Lawson & to an extent Bradshaw

The depth of that bowling lineup is ridiculously poor. Especially when you pick Best. If that bowling lineup played India in India tomorrow, they would be slaughtered.

Ideally I would like to see Collins and Edwards opening, then Collymore and Mohammed. Gayle would be a fifth bowler, and there might possibly be room for Bravo as well.

I don't see the point in picking a specialist spinner such as Mohammed as a fifth bowler, since Gayle already fills that role. If a spinner is to be picked (as will no doubt be necessary in Sri Lanka) he should be given a proper role, instead of simply bowling once the fast bowlers become tired. Both Edwards and Best are wildly inconsistent, but Edwards gets in ahead of Best for me because he has a far greater ability to swing the ball, from what i've seen.

Collins might still be injured? He missed the third Test against RSA due to injury, i'm not sure if it is related to his absence though.

damn the one time i fall asleep during a match chanders dosent score big.good to hear lara getting another ton.

bowling line up collins, edwards, collymore, lawson (since its wi and we seem to love the 4 paced attack) but i would go with mohammed to replace lawson bravo and gayle backing up.gayle moreso im still not sure about bravz yet.
powell just dosent seem to have the brain for it.
best needs control and to get back into the 90mph club then maybe.

Would you bet against it?

Although the way he's going, the team will only add another 200 were that to happen!

Yeah I didn`t mean neccessary in that order. If anything, it`d be Bravo as a fifth bowler, certainly not Mohammed. :)

That`s hardly ended up anywhere!

Rana seems to be bowling badly in Tests, Sami`s average is still outrageous, Kaneria isn`t doing anything against the Windies, Ahmed`s action has been reported.
