He's bowled pretty well today tbh. He just needs to learn how to bowl a yorker, especially if he's going to bowl in the PP/death overs.
Yeah, if he can develop a decent yorker then he can also use that good slower ball more effectively because he doesn't have to bowl it as often. He has most of the tools to be a decent bowler for us. Will be interesting to see what 2 out of Mills/Southee/Bennett will play. You would think he would still be the first to go but if he keeps performing in the warm up/group matches then you never know.

It's more like 3 out of Mills/Southee/Bennett/Oram imo

If Oram is out, then there is no reason why all three won't play.

Good show by NZ.Bennett may have the second ugliest action in world cricket after Sohail Tanvir, but he bowled well today.

People complain that the commentators always criticise/talk about batting powerplays and when to take them. But the reason they do is international teams get it wrong 95% of the time.
Yet internet posters get it right 100% of the time.

I get the feeling international teams spend hours and hours working out when is the best time to take it.

I think we've found our playing 11 for the first WC game as well as the batting order. Slot Vettori back in there in place of Woodcock and we've got a good lineup. Styris and N McCullum both proved they can take advantage of the powerplay given the chance.

Just have to hope Ryder stays fit at the top of the order really.

Yeah, i have to admit i was keen to have Oram there half just because of his name and past performances but now that i have more confidence in Nathan McCullum's batting ability there is no reason we shouldn't be able to play all our seamers. Hey, if we can win the warm up games and then go on to suck all available confidence from the canada/kenya games then we may be able to have a good performance at the WC.

I know he is a bit raw but I'm especially impressed with Bennett and if he is anything to judge by then we may just have a few decent young bowling options running around in a years time for the black caps.
