Watching England play ODI cricket is depressing. So much so that I was almost tempted to put the England socey game on, which almost always makes me want to slit my wrists. How the hell can England be so crap/boring at almost everything?

Pakistan win the match comfortably. I think MOM should goto Asif. His performance was one of the finest you'll see in an ODI.

He's good - probably the outstanding young quick bowler in world cricket. But this is just the same old story for England. The top order yet again doing nothing and their bowling not remotely equipped to make up for them. Granted they're better than the shower we saw against SL, but that's not saying a lot.

Pathetic again.

I may have alluded before to the fact that the dazzler being recalled was a good thing, I would formally like to make an apology, blimey bring back Kabir Ali, all is forgiven.

Yes, I'm using the satire of a bloke that stands near me in the Big Bank, who always screams "bring back Steve Biggins", whenever we're doing badly, him being considered one of the worse players in Citys history.

I actually thought he was a decent performer with a good touch, however I seem to be in a minority of one.

that he has been, from the beginning of his career....brilliant bowler...a healthy akhtar and asif with a decent support cast becomes a formidable proposition for any batting lineup....

I think it's funny how England can make conditions seem impossible for batting then Pakistan
bat with ease in terrible light.

How can we be so useless?

I know we're missing some big players, but even then we only have 3 good batsman in the side and approximatley 1 good bowler.

I'm impressed by Clarke who i thought was useless before today, but it's a pretty desperate situation when the bright point of the match is a 39 by the number 7.

Darren Gough looked just as inneffective as he did last year, Broad is promising but had a bad day, Lewis bowled brilliantly and i hope he keeps his place, Mahmood and Plunkett need to be dropped from international cricket for a long long time.

poor again from England, only positives were Read little cameo showing how good of a player he can be in the latter overs if the top order can contribute & surprisingly Clarke with the bat & in the field although his bowling is not up to standard.

Listen to this!

This time england took away the light and made the conditions very gloomy .. but pakistan was able to brilliantly defeat them anwyay in emphatic style!

I mean 1st ODI rain washed away Pakistan's dominance ...

4rth test hair destroyed Pakistan's dominance

3rd test unfairly younis and yousuf were given out by hair ... and inzamam lost his balance and fell

2nd test the Tradfford pitch was horrible ... everything went opposite .. seam and swing bowlers were used less and batsmen could not tell the bounce of the ball .. so unexpected messsed up pitch ....

twenty twenty pakistan dominated again .... and won fairly ....

and other tour match pakistan won if they were not abandoned

woaw this series has seriously had made a brilliant world class side feel so devestated ...

I mean massive injuries:

younis khan injured and not there for 1st test that was drawn .... shoiab malik, rana , shoiab, and asif all injured and back for the ODIs ...

The only amazing bowlers on the pakistani side during the test series were sami, kaneria, and gul .. all capacble of performing highly good .. but unfortunately sami and kaneria were nto as successful as they should have been for the bowling they did especially kaneria...

Ah, City usually drive me to "**** **** ****** ****** ******* ******* **** referee ****** **** ****".

I think I managed something funny once. Possibly "get him off" after about 25 seconds when Les put his first touch into the Old Grandstand.

inzaman the man once again!

You know what is so great about inzamam-ul-haq and the reason why he is one of the best batsmen in the world ... he plays so classically and and confidently .. he saves pakistan at the stage when they need it the most ... today it was so dark and at times one cannot see the ball .. but he came in and finished it off!

If you look at the previous scorecards ... he always plays so perfectly ... I mean even this match he just needed 17 runs to win yet he will not explode and become afridi he will play so classicaly and get the job done ... if there like 10 balls left and 10 runs he wont go for sixes he will play it rite .. I mean just his behavious his skills ,, his attitude amazes me at the most critical stages of matches ... he is a treat to watch ... and younis khan is just like him but a bit more aggressive

the way inzy reacts to a situation .... I remember in this match he came in flexing and streching and getting ready to show what he is made out of ... just showed me what a man he is .. no wonder he has been rated as the 7th best batsmen right now ... I can't explain in words anywmore ... like he really inspires me ... and trust me he is a man one does not wanna mess with ...

he doesn't care if you get offended everytime he come to the mike he will say what he belive in as it is ... I mean he is not afraid of anyone... he is fearless and shyless....

styl wanted to see afridi play in this ODI tho ... afridi is afridi but I guess Pakistan didn't need him as inzy finished it off

Pakistan impressed me a lot today. The Poms were quite mediocre, as usual.

Rana should be somewhat excused from his performance today, because the ball didn't swing an inch for him. His seam position was immaculate as usual, but still no swing. He completely relies on it, and usually gets a heck of a lot of it.

Inzamam-ul-Haq played an awesome innings. I couldn't really tell, but everyone says it was terribly dark while he was batting. Yet he defended only 4 balls, and hit 40-odd off 20-odd at a crucial time to win the match.

England had bad luck with umpires for once, with Doctrove (who somehow escaped criticism for his role in the ball-tampering incident) calling Lewis for a no-ball he didn't bowl to scratch off the early dismisal of Younis Khan.

I agree Lewis did bowl extremely well but this was precisely his kind of surface. The prospect of Jon Lewis bowling in the Champions Trophy on flat Indian wickets to the likes of Sehwag and Gilchrist does not bear thinking about. Their will just tee off and smack him here there and everywhere.

In regard to Clarke, his bowling was ***** and the vast majority of his runs were scored against part time spinners on a pitch which was offering next to nothing for them. Hardly that impressive, went back to his old self once the pace reappeared.

It was horrifically dark, could barely see a thing. So it was not like the decision to carrying on playing was for the crowds sake…

This is getting beyond a joke, if the coach wants to retain any speck of credibility they should choose this side for the next two matches;

1. Marcus Trescothick
2. Andrew Strauss
3. Kevin Pieterson
4. Leo Sayer
5. Paul Collingwood
6. Ian Bell
7. Gordon Banks
8. Stuart Broad
9. Jonathon Lewis
10.Eileen Derbyshire
11.Matthew Hoggard
