Fair point. I only remember Giles & Gough from that game. Was out watching a gig. :p

Edit: Still 2-1 to Read, though. (*remembers match-winning and series-tying 25-odd in West Indies)
Plus a more than decent bash against SA in 1999/2000 after the top order had folded in the usual heap. Richard wasn't wrong when he used to regularly point out that Read is a more than handy oneday batsman.

Looks like Akhtar's cleaning up now, but 163 for 9 is about 60 more than I reckoned at one stage. Still can't see us worrying the Pakistanis though.

Perfectly suited for No. 8, anyway.

Pakistan are going to chase 170, I think - the rain interruption will up their target somewhat. Are there still heavy clouds there?

though if you got bowled out the target wasn't adjusted?
Don't see why - after all, your resource percentage is changed by the rain.

Cricinfo says it isn't, tho, so I'll have to trust them...

Yes, I agree. In an ideal world, Dalrymple would bat ahead of him at 7.

There certainly are just south of London.
1st blood to Lewis, I gather.

Steady stuff from Gough & Lewis, but we badly need wickets with the new ball if this is going to be a contest.

Bring Rikki on.

gawd, I must be getting desperate.

Bad decision by the ump there, I reckon we should walk off the pitch:shutup:

Broad bowling uttterly the wrong length, Dominic Cork would have four by now, mascarenas about three.

given that Cork had 0-30 in near identical conditions at Lords last week against lesser batsmen, I'd dispute that.

Well I'm about to turn over to watch Phil Neville play for England, that'll cheer me up.

Even though I actually think Bell, Colly or even Clarke may bowl well on this pitch.

That last comment may be a contender for the "Greigy".
