***Official*** Pakistan in England

Good fightback by Colly & The Proclaimer, but my there's been some ordinary catching today from Pakistan. Farhat had a absolute mare, poor lad; took one out of Inzi's mitts (surely a shout fro the big fella was in order tho) & then shelled a dolly.

I quite like the look of Gul, his figures really don't do him justice. Sami looks pretty harmless once the shine's off tho. Better haircut now tho.

Great Test Match so far .Fightback by Cook and Collingwood in the absence of several players commendable. I expect this Test being at Lords ...to end in a draw . *Reminds himself of Sri Lanka's second innings at Lords in the recent series *

Collingwood struggled for about half an hour after tea, was in complete control up til then and was safe enough thereafter.
Akmal's dropped catch appears to have slipped through your radar !
But there's no denying that Collingwood was comfortably our best batter yesterday, and I'm always pleased to see him make runs given his attitude.

Funny old day. If Pakistan had held their chances (and if Younis had been fit and in his usual position at 2nd slip) then we could very easily have been shot out for 250 or worse and found ourselves in big trouble. As it is, we still need at least another 150, I reckon - preferably another 200. Conditions aren't nearly so overcast today, so I don't expect the ball to swing as much. We'll need a big first innings lead given the amount of turn Kaneria extracted on Day 1, so lets hope C & C can keep it going.

Typical of some people on this site to criticise an Englishman who is on 101 as a massive disappointment. Yes, he had his luck, but so what? I don't care if he gets dropped 50 times on his way to 101, runs win matches, drops lose them. When we dropped the Sri Lankans about 9 times we were castigated. Now our batsman our getting dropped, and some of you are castigating them. Pathetic.

Its amazing, a year ago Akmal was seen as a good keeper and just a usefull bat now he looks more like a batsman who can keep aswell.

Whatever it takes!!!
the fielding was unbelievable but it is nice to see Cook and Collingwood do well, even though they did get chances. I rate both of them and it is nice to see them succeed.

It was ordinary cricket but it made for a very interesting days play.

I thought the England guys batted well and that Pakistan will be left to rue their chances.

Its always a good day of cricket when if couple of things here and there had gone differently then the complection of the game would be dramatically changed.

1st session today will be important. England still have not built a massive total and early wickets could bring Pakistan back into this.

Im sitting ready for a fascinating 2hr session. Bring it on.:)

They just showed Sami's test record and I have to say I was suprised. I knew they weren't exactly great, but they are actually bloody shocking, especially so considering he's played over 20 tests. Surely at some point you have to just admit that the stats don't lie and you can't keep picking him based on 'talent' or 'potential'?

Agreed.

Interestingly TMS needed a replay with snicko to notice he'd actually edged it, they thought at the time it had missed the edge by a distance...

Did you see it or are you just listening to TMS? If you have not seen it, it was a big, loud nick with a bit of deviation. 999 out of 1000 that is given.

TMS crew doing what they do best, get easily distracted and lose focus on the cricket.
