Good old consistent Pakistani selections...

Code:
Pakistan 2005-06 Pakistan 2006
Shoaib M Imran F
Salman Salman
Younis/Asim Faisal Iqbal
Yousuf Yousuf
Inzamam Inzamam
Raza/Afridi Afridi
Kamran Kamran
Sami Sami
Shoaib A Razzaq
Shabbir/Rana Naved Gul
Kaneria Kaneria
I'm struggling to see exactly how that second side warrants 2nd place in the world, but I'm willing to be proved wrong by England in the clouds.

A team that is unbeaten in a test series for the past 18 months certainly desrves to be #2.

The side on the left, if that played, would be No. 2. But that isn't playing, and the team including Faisal, Imran, Afridi, Sami, Razzaq and Gul I can't quite see as being second.

Interesting that most of this is due to injuries, though. England definitely shouldn't be moaning about that if they lost this test.

I am amazed that Hoggard has been passed fit - good job we're batting, as that should give his hand another 24 hours. And yes, that does change my earlier prognosis.

Why isn't Younis playing?! I've got a bet on him to be Pakistan's top scorer in the series, ffs!

Knee injury.

44/0 (6.3 overs). Solid start. If only they could do that kinda thing in ODIs... ;)

Edit: Mind, you won't get Extras outscoring Trescothick unless it's a Durham v Somerset game...

I've just tuned into TMS and they're talking about a dropped catch, which I hadn't spotted on cricinfo. Anyone out there see it?

Sounds like there's a lot of swing to be found if the bowlers could only use it. Not complaining though.

Sounds like an absolute gift from Tresco next ball.
Let's hand the initiative back to the opposition part 37 ...

Here comes Alastair Cook. More importantly, Jenny's taken one for the team and is making us tea - which makes a change, frankly, as it's usually me on tea duty.

Now then now then now then, it's all gone Pete Tong for England. Well not quite, but they were racing along. Two new batsmen at the crease

Ive not seen any replay, as Ive turned over to watch the Good Life . Losing wickets drives me crazy, but it sounded like he got an inside edge on it. Did he?

Strauss gone :@
and Cook lucky not to follow him straight away.

Sounds like Strauss' dismissal was forgiveable, whereas Tres just played a shocker. As Boycs is saying on TMS, the idea was to get to lunch with minimum damage to see off the newball swing and then it'll be easier. Tres really should know that.

TMS reckon he did, but it was not visible to the naked eye, so no blame to the umpire there. Boycs says he'd have been OK if he'd moved his feet.
