Yousuf is right about Butt, that he is a selfish and a lazy player.

Pakistan has better and more potentially capable younger players who can replace Butt/Farhat/Faisal/Malik/Misbah.....

Even if it was poor running from Butt,is there any meaning in a captain openly throwing tantrums at his player.

Above it,Yousuf defended his team's poor show in this test series stating that his side came close to winning a test match whereas his team's previous tours to Aus were disastrous.

I am not defending Yousuf or his captaincy or his various statements.

However, i do agree with his sentiments about Salman Butt.

You have to understand, Butt, Farhat, Iqbal, Misbah, Malik, these players are like "cancer" to Pak cricket. They are powerful people back home, and they keep on making come backs with out any show of form.

In Pakistan cricket, it takes open criticism of a player or an admin to make changes. Morality and loyalty to the game or nation is not their.

Butt is a pure example of selfishness...he just wants his numbers....thats all......


Ideologically speaking, yes, i agree a captain should not do this in the middle of a test. However, it is a different thing for Pakistan. No body in Pakistan will mind a captain slashing at a player like this, in this particular situation.

I reckon ponting will enforce the follow on if pak don't make 320.Aus need to pick 10 wickets to win the match.If Aus bat again and there is a rain intervention then pak will be sitting pretty as they need to bat for a lesser amount of time.
