*Official* Pakistan in Australia

Gul's action is interesting, at delivery it looks like his left arm is trying its best not to co-operate with the right.

Fair call. Just chalked up his 130th over of the series, that is 40 more than Johnson who is leading the overs for Australian fast bowlers.
Add roughly the same amount for the NZL series and that is after 18 months of zero cricket which means no FC or club games even.

Give us anotha tonne RickAy!

BTW, if he does score another century doesn't he break the record for most occurances of scoring a century in both innings of a match?

And another question: if we win this, had we won the test we drew against the WIndies would Australia be #1?

I might sound like a sore looser but its frustrating to see Pakistan trail by roughly what Ponting made after getting dropped.
Said it before during this match, but if you're a bad catcher, you're a bad cricketer, simple as.

That said, I think we over-estimate the importance of drop catches in and of themselves. I've done no research on this other than the impressions I've formed from 20 years of watching cricket seriously, but I'd say that it would be a rare match where both sides don't put down at least one catch. Yes, there are times like the test in Sydney when drops occur a lot more and definitely do swing the match, but in general, I'd think its expected that a team might need to generate 21-22 chances to take the 20 wickets. What is particularly telling, and a testament in this case to Ponting's quality, is that when given that chance, he stuck in and made the opposition pay. So many times you see someone dropped, but the mistake doesn't loom large because they get themselves out a few balls later.

I thought he already had that

Haha, Watto's shot gets worse each time you look at it.

Hoping Ponting tons up again tomorrow, WAG.

Oh yeah? I think he shares it with Gavaskar though.
Yes, Ponting and Gavaskar have both scored a century in each innings 3 times...and if Ponting can get another hundred, he'll be only the 7th player to have scored a double hundred and a century in the same game
(Walters, Gavaskar, Rowe, G. Chappell, Gooch and Lara)

Slightly off-track, however looking for the above I found another record that Ponting does hold, he has the highest score (242) where someone also scored a duck in the same Test (almost repeated with his should have been out for 0 and then scord 209 lol)

I don't think you're being a sore loser. I'd be frustrated as hell if that happened to my team.

It seems most people have going on the absence of comments in here this morning. I was surprised to see an update to the thread.

It's also worth watching just to hear Mark Nicholas plug the new Underbelly series. I could just imagine Mark in gangster mode.

Whoever said Katich will get out on 98 has a chance...although not now.

Wow, so much good cricket for so little comments. I've thoroughly enjoyed the mornings play. Also got the toe of my new Grey Nick knocked in. I can now dig out yorkers, though I can't edge it or play a proper cricket shot
