Good comeback by Aus.I think Aus will still be looking for a win and will be hoping to bowl Pak out to a score of 350 or less than that tomorrow.
Pakistan should be dissapointed as they should have been looking for a total of 400+ when both Youhanna and Younis were playing.In both the test match Pakistan had their moments though.

I think they can reach 400, after which anything is a bonus.
And you shouldn't really equate India's performance with Pakistan. We are playing against a much better bowling attack for one, [though I don't know whether pitch last year was easier to bat on or not] this really has been an inspired performance by the Pakistani top-order. 3 of the top five clicked and now it is upto the lower-order to put in some useful contributions to put up a competative total.

How can you say score of 350 is a disappointing total.In the previouse test match pakistan got australia out around 300.i hope they can repeat in this test match with two pace men sami and akhtar pakistan will be on top but at the moment i expect some thing bigger from kamal the wicketkeeper.He knows he hasnt done will in the previouse test match but he wants to remain in the pakistani team for another 1 month then he really needs to bat well and put a good partnership with razzaq.although i understand that razzaq is out of form but chora made a good point of him going againts the bowlers rather then being defensive.Choora said:

'twas a good atmosphere today at the cricket. Good seats too, in the new stand, squarish to the wicket. Warne copped a bit of a belting I reckon. Definately not figures to be proud of. I predicted his wicket. I said "Warney won't go for 100 runs without a wicket", and there we had it, 4 balls later, Rudi raised the slow, agonising finger to give the stumping, which spelled trouble for Pakistan.
Gillespie picking up a wicket first ball back was kind of unexpected.
All in all, a good day I guess.

Good to see Pakistan and in particular Yousuf Youhana showing some fighting spirit and batting well on the opening day !!
If they get all out under 400 all the effort may be wasted as this Aussie side is capable of cleaning them out even from this position and their critics like Javed Miandad
are unlikely to tone down if they don't make more out of this current position !!

Very similar to last year's boxing day test. I just hope Pakistan don't lose 4 wickets in the first hour on the 2nd day like India did. :-/
Great effort by Pakistan. Salman, Youhana and Younis Kahn all did excellently. If only one of them managed to still be in there at the close of play Pakistan would be far ahead. I was disappointed with Salman Butt running himself out. That was shocking.

I spent the day watching the game at the MCG - 'twas a fantastic day at the cricket.
Yeah Salman Butts runout was silly and unwarranted and you could see that he knew it as he walked off the pitch. Still, it is only his 3rd test and upto then he had played well and taken advantage of the luck that often favours the bold.
Youhana really smacked Warnie around as well, and maybe this will result in the rest of the Pakistani lineup being less petrified whenever he comes onto bowl.
If Pakistan can take this attitude into the test, and every day and session of it we may have a good test match on our hands I think.

They just need to continue with the positive approach they adopted today. Fair enough, Razzaq isn't the best batsman in the world, but he is more than capable with the bat, if he takes the controlled agression approach like his team-mates did, it will be better for the team, and he actually might learn how to bat in test matches.
