Excellent innings by Youhana - the way he treated Warne, brilliant!
Probably one of his best innings. 'Twas great to see Test cricket again!

That's how all batsman should treat Warne. Opposition batsman don't put enough of his bad balls away.

Totally agree. I think the same is for McGrath too. Defensive modes are often what gets batsman in trouble. You don't overly attack, but if you play aggresively and take calculated risks, you can get on top of those champions.

Razzaq has 2 modes of batting and thats blocking or slogging, and he cant block for long without getting out so see needs to start blazing and basically go down swinging.

Pakistan really need to kick on and get 450 today though. The pitch is so benign that it's hard to see Australia not getting 500 in their first innings. Great to see Pakistan with some intent yesterday. The only series' in which Australia have really been stretched in the last five years are West Indies 1999; India 2001 and India out here last summer.

In all three series, the batsmen have taken the attack up to the Aussies - Lara in 1999; Dravid, Laxman and Sehwag for India. The point is that you don't beat - or even challenge - Australia by trying to outlast them. Rather, you must come at them in an aggressive, yet controlled, way. It's why England and South Africa get crushed by the Aussies every time.

How can you say score of 350 is a disappointing total. In the previouse test match pakistan got australia out around 300.i hope they can repeat in this test match with two pace men sami and akhtar pakistan will be on top but at the moment i expect some thing bigger from kamal the wicketkeeper. He knows he hasnt done will in the previouse test match but he wants to remain in the pakistani team for another 1 month then he really needs to bat well and put a good partnership with razzaq.although i understand that razzaq is out of form but chora made a good point of him going againts the bowlers rather then being defensive.

Youhana, standing in for the injured skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq, was dissapointed with Pakistan's weak finish after he and Younis Khan had put on 192 for the fourth wicket.

I'd think for a majority of the day, Pakistan had outplayed us

Australia coach John Buchanan

"It's a good score, but we lost six wickets. I want more runs," he added.

"If we make 430 to 450, I think that's a good total."

I think Australia will bowl out Pakistan for a score of about 350. Australia themself will take a first inning lead of 200-250 which will be enough to beat Pakistan with an innings margin!

I think if pakistan can get up to the region of 370, it will be a very competitive score. Hopefully, we can get some early wickets too. Aus will probably get an innings lead but it wont be much, Should be an interesting match - hopefully.

India is experimenting right now, new players are being tried, so an odd defeat won't hurt India much as long as India is able to find good young players. And i think in Sriram, India has found a very good allrounder.

Or is it another language ?

It seems all of your posts are anti-Pakistan in some way or other. Leave it out of this thread please.

Who would have thought? Pakistan put on 23 runs and lost 4 wickets in the process, you could call it a lower order collapse?!

Hayden has lost it lol..

Shoiab is bowling well but not that well.. He bowled several balls that Hayden would have murderd at any time last year then got him out to a rank long hop.

Ponting should have hit that ball for six tho.

In test cricket he is not as brutal on the pull as he used to be..

he would have a few years ago.. I can remember him playing shoiab of the backfoot with ease at times.
