Actually, I should have emphasised, wherever the wickets are bouncier viz Aus, SAF and some West indian wickets. Because I was trying to point out the weakness in Pakistans batting on these wickets.

In any event I am not so sure of their record outside the subcontinent.. Subcontinent means India, BD and Sri Lanka (besides Pakistan themselves). In the last five years pakistan has won away series only in Zimbabwe and NZLand, drawn one each in England and NZLand and lost all three series in Aus., SAF and Windies . in all of the last three they failed to win a single test.

For all Pakistani friends let me reiterate, I am not saying this to run down the Pakistani team. I am a great admirer of Pakistani cricketers and the talent that keeps coming out of Pakistan, but to point out what I see as the one major weakness in the batting talent coming out of Pakistan of late.

They all seem to be great strokeplayers who drive beautifully off the front foot and through the line even to balls which are not exactly pitched up. This is normal for youngsters brought up on true tracks where bounce is not excessive and is true. This gets exposed on bouncy tracks against quality pace attack.
Actually i'm an Indian . I would still say that Pakistan have done better overseas as compared to how they have fared while playing on subcontinent as they have lost to sides like SL and Zimbabwae on their own homeground.Interestingly they even struggled to beat Bangladesh on their homeground.

As for Pak's main weakness, its very clear that their batting is crap and there seems to be no batting talent in the entire country of 150 million. Its very unfortunate as accross the border you will find better batsmen even at club level!

Another debacle in the offing today. Usually I can't wait for the Boxing Day Test, but I'm more than a little underwhelmed by today's fare. Although I do think that the Shoaib v Hayden encounter will be magnetic.

Hayden really needs to prove that he can make runs against absolute world class bowling of the highest order. Yes I know he creamed Shoaib two years ago, but the Shoaib in Perth was entirely different.

Furthermore, he could barely get if off the square in his encounters with Walsh and Ambrose a few years ago, and Harmison easily had the best of him in their only encounter at the ICC Championship in September.

Past means NOTHING, as he never played in Australia before. Farhat might score some runs in Subcont but in Australia he will always struggle and as such is useless over there.

Lately Inzi has been struggling with illness.I don't think Inzi can last for more than 2 years.Pakistan need to find someone who can replace Inzi , also they should be looking for a new skipper.
Is Y Youhanna the right choice for captaincy?

Oh no, Farhat is still playing for Pak, there is just 2 change with Yasir replacing injured Inzi and Malik replacing Khalil.

Would be interesting to see how long Farhat and Yasit last.

Well, Pakistan have survived 45 balls so far for 14/0.

It's an improvement, I suppose.
L :p L!

Pakistan players can give a great christmas present to skipper Youhanna by scoring 100 runs! By Pakistan's standard it would be an achievement!

Pak have actually scored 50 without losing a wicket!

Once they lose a wicket i suspect they will be loss of 3-4 wkts in quick succession.

Salman Butt looks set for a century after posting his first test 50. He seems to be the main threat at the moment. Imran Farhat wasn't exactly smashing anyone anywhere, so it could be a good thing for Pakistan that he has gone.
